This is where, using precise production steps, the frames for the whole Kögel product range are welded together.
Our sister company is outstanding for its long tradition, extensive know-how and high-quality work carried out by around 250 employees.
On the production line in Burtenbach, the welded vehicle chassis are transferred to a fully automated transport system and are first carried to the blasting system.
Dirt contamination, rust, rolling mill scale etc. is removed by the high-energy steel abrasive.
After cleaning, the frames are ready for corrosion protection by cathodic dip-paint coating, or KTL in brief.
Through cathodic dip-paint coating treatment, all components receive uniform coating thickness and constant surface quality.
Subsequent burning-in ensures a stable and sturdy paint structure.
All the fluids in the dip baths are checked for their chemical composition every day.
This analysis ensures the extraordinary high quality of the Kögel chassis.
In the painting department the customer can choose between cathodic dip paint coating with UV protection or cathodic dip painting with a decorative or full paint coating.
The vehicle frames have now reached the assembly section.
Being one of the first trailer manufacturers in Germany, Kögel fabricates its own axles.

In the sandwich panel competence centre in Duingen, Kögel also produces the bodies for the family of box trailers.
50 qualified employees prepare the plates, fit them in a special foam mould and fill the sandwich panels with highly-insulating foam material.
Later they are joined together thoroughly.
