A big push that I've had through my environmental science courses has been to get them out in
the field, and so we take anywhere from, I'd say, six to eight field trips in a semester
for conservation biology.
My experience at JCC so far has included me in an internship through urban forestry.
I saw this opportunity for teaching abroad in Spain. I knew it was something I wanted
to try, and I ended up really, really loving where I went.
So there are a lot of significant opportunities for the students to do things here at JCC
that we've found that perhaps juniors or seniors in four year colleges get to do. All I'd have
to say to students is why not look at JCC? It's a great place to get some opportunities
and experiences under your belt.
