In this video i show how to secure phpmyadmin after installation
first example, access phpmyadmin with username and password
Add " AllowOverride All " to phpmyadmin apache.conf in " /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf "
Create " .htaccess " file in " /usr/share/phpmyadmin/.htaccess "
Insert the lines into the new file " .htaccess ", which are under the video
Create new " htpasswd " by typing " sudo htpasswd -c /etc/apache2/.phpmyadmin.htpasswd username "
Provide and confirm your password
Now you have secure access to phpmyadmin
Restart apache and check the access
In the second example, I want to configure access only from specific IP addresses
Again, change the file " apache.conf "
Replace line " AllowOverride All " to " Order Allow,Deny "
And then add the address to which you want to allow access
If the remote server, add your public IP address as shown in the video
Type in google " my ip " to check your external IP
Paste it into apache.conf
Restart apache
Now i have access without password
Let's check, i have remote server with an ip address that is not in the allowed list
Forbidden
And now I want to allow access to phpmyadmin from the remote server
Add it to the list of allowed addresses
Restart apache
And now i have access to phpmyadmin from remote server
