Hi, I'm Brent Borreson,
I work a lot on editorial photo shoots
and larger than life hair is a common request.
I have to have the right styling products
to deliver the right results.
My favorite styling collection is the Volume Collection.
The Volume Collection helps you add body and substance
to any hair type that creates volume,
so you can give clients the full-bodied styles
they're looking for.
This collection includes eight products:
Touch Control 05, Rootful 06,
Thickening Lotion 06,
Layer Lift 07, Full Frame 07,
Aerate 08, Contour 08, and Guts 10.
Let's begin with Touch Control 05.
Touch Control 05 volumizing texture whip adds volume,
control and fullness without stiffness.
It gives shape, texture and shine to styles
that have movement.
It's great for blow drying due to its anti-breakage technology
and heat protection.
Put a generous amount in your hand,
emulsify and apply through damp hair.
Then style with a blow dryer or diffuser
or just let the hair dry naturally.
I like to apply Touch Control to the mid shaft
and ends of dry hair,
then set on an iron from the ends to the scalp.
This gives a relaxed look at the scalp
and builds beautiful, no frizz curl
with definition and volume at the perimeter.
You'll get amazing volume with soft, sexy movement.
Touch Control 05 is great for male clients too.
Try it on guys who like to slightly pump up the volume
while blow drying.
You know, like some of the new male stars.
Use it as a foundation,
then layer Redken for Men Outplay over it
to piece out the shape.
Rootful 06 is our next volume product.
Rootful 06, root lifting spray boost roots
with long-lasting fullness that's never stiff or sticky.
It features clean-feel technology
to deliver non-tacky style manipulation with frizz control
and the targeted nozzle allows for precise application
right at the roots.
Apply to damp hair at the roots,
and either air dry or blow dry for lasting volume.
For maximum root lift, lift the sections up as you blow dry.
I like to use Rootful 06 at the roots of the hair,
then add Contour 08 through the rest,
then blow dry using the first two rows of a Denman type brush
to achieve lift and direction at the roots
and a round brush to finish out the mid shaft and the ends.
You'll get fantastic volume with soft, believable movement.
To achieve a sexy, tousled look apply Rootful 06
to the root area of towel-dried hair.
Rough dry with a blow dryer using your fingertips to create the lift,
instead of a brush.
Thickening Lotion 06 body builder
adds extra body, texture, volume and shine.
It contains bodifying proteins
that help reconstruct and strengthen hair,
making every strand look and feel thicker.
Apply through towel-dried hair
and blow dry for maximum volume.
Its thick consistency is easy to apply
and it won't build up on the hair.
I love to use Thickening Lotion on a shorter cut,
when I need to plump the hair and achieve body,
and it gives me a gorgeous, weightless shine.
Thickening Lotion 06 is a must-have product
when working with a diffuser or doing wave sets.
For added control and softness, blend with a couple of drops
of Smooth Down Heat Glide emulsify it then apply.
For best results before diffusing or doing wave sets,
make sure you comb out all of the tangles with a fine-tooth comb.
Remember, no tangles means no frizz.
Layer Lift 07 length elevating spray gel
adds body and movement to the ends
where layered looks need it most.
You can create voluptuous tousled waves
or full-blown smoothness while adding shine
and helping to prevent flatness and frizz.
Layer Lift features clean feel technology
for non-tacky style manipulation with frizz control.
Just apply to damp hair and air dry
or blow dry with your fingers.
I like to use Layer Lift to achieve a full look
from roots to ends on long layered hair.
It's great when I'm going for volume at the crown.
I apply it to damp hair,
then tousle dry with my fingers.
When the hair is 90% dry,
I use a round brush to polish the lift
and pump up the volume.
Layer Lift is great for second day re-styling.
