The countdown to True Blood season 5 begins, Bravo orders a big batch of new shows, and
are Saturday Night Live's biggest stars leaving the show? I'm Alex and it's all coming up
on today's Reel TV News. Good news, Truebies! HBO announced yesterday
that season 5 of our favorite summer show True Blood will officially premiere on Sunday,
June 10th at 9pm. For those keeping track, that's over 2 weeks earlier than last year's
season 4 premiere, so it looks like waiting sucks just a little bit less this year.
The TV blogs are abuzz with rumors that Saturday Night Live key players Kristen Wiig, Jason
Sudeikis and Andy Samberg will be leaving the show at the end of the current 37th season.
While Us Weekly first reported the upcoming departure, a spokeswoman for both Kristen
and Jason has responded saying it's only speculation, but it does leave fans wondering if all three
stars would be better off doing bigger and better things with their already-big careers.
What do you think - would you still watch SNL without Kristen, Jason and Andy?
Guilty pleasure network Bravo announced that they've greenlit 11 brand-new series for the
upcoming year. This includes Beverly Hill Housewife Lisa Vanderpump's spin-off, as well
as a "Life After Top Chef" series which will follow former fan favorites Richard Blais,
Fabio Viviani and more in their culinary ventures. Bravo has also renewed 8 returning shows,
including Tabatha Takes Over, Top Chef Masters and more. Be sure to check back tomorrow for
more entertainment updates from SideReel.
