Hi! I’m Anna-Marie; I’m a Canadian Olympic Rower. I’m here on behalf of expertvillage.com.
In this clip, we’re going to talk a little bit about taking care of your machine. After
you’ve finished a workout, it’s very important to wipe your machine down to keep it clean,
first of all, for the next user and to keep it moving well, so that everything’s working
efficiently. Some of the places that are the most important to clean are the handle where
you’ve been gripping, the seat where you’ve been sitting, and the slide that we talked
about earlier. It’s just very important to spray down those parts of the machine and
wipe them with a clean cloth. That will help keep the sweat out of all the parts of the
machine where it should not be. Okay, so wiping down the slides; wiping down the top of your
seats and the handles is very important. You should also wipe down the monitor, but never
spray anything directly onto the monitor. Spray it onto a cloth first and then wipe
down the monitor. As we talked about before, when you’re not working out, the handle
should always be up against the cage. This is the position you should always leave the
machine. This chain is on a elastic like a bungee cord. If it’s left down here, that
bungee cord is going to get loose over time. Another thing to think about is this chain
is just like a bicycle chain. Keeping it well oiled and lubricated, is very important. Always
refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for this. Or if you’re working out at a
gym, tell the gym if the chain is rattling in any way or it’s squeaking like a bicycle
chain. This should help keep your machine in good working order.
