#8 Just Admit it ... You're Wrong We hate to admit it we're wrong ... it's like
we're afraid to lose our spot in the hierarchy of humanity. Why is it when we err in some
way we can't just simply say "you're right. I made a mistake. I'm sorry."
That way, it's done and over with. Once the apology's given we have short memories. But
when we deny the truth & adamantly refuse to accept any wrongdoing ... trouble brews.
In the cover up inevitably the lies come out ... those little white things we dish out
like breath mints hoping to diffuse the stench of the truth. And when we deliver enough of
them it's easy to lose track of what is real and what's not. But our body doesn't forget
as it sends out trigger signals of unrest. Yep, when your gut screams "the agido is killing
me." that's when you gotta come clean. Take a deep humbling swallow & utter the words
"I'm sorry" no matter how painful. Ok maybe with a bit more feeling would be nice. Trust
me it will be like lifting the piano off your heart.
So whether it be refusal to take blame even when you're wrong or losing track of the untruths
you've uttered ... take the advice of my Nona, who used to merely say: Admit the truth. Save
your valued time and energy for the greater issues in life & ultimately you might also
save the relationship. Stay well.
