A common problem when installing extensions is when your upper layer of your natural hair creates a shelf above where your extensions fall.
In order for your extensions to be believable, this shelf will have to be erased and blended into the extension hair.
Let's take a look at how that is done.
So we need to take this entire area, above where that shelf lives.
So everything over those extensions.
You are going to hold them straight up.
Use the thinning shears and we are going to create one, two, three lines.
Going to comb out that hair.
Move over to our next section.
Lift everything up.
Same deal. One, two, three cuts.
With your initial cuts in place, smooth in out and take a look.
If you can see any spots that need any additional thinning, go ahead and lift it up and repeat.
And you are going to do this until your shelf is completely blended.
And that is how you eliminate your upper shelf.
