Grand Valley is a place
where students learn more than just skills.
We learn about ourselves.
With more than 200 programs...
300 student organizations...
and beautiful campuses...
life here is always exciting.
I love west Michigan; we're less
than a half hour from the lake...
and just a short bus ride from downtown Grand Rapids.
You definitely need to visit campus and see all the things
that make Grand Valley so "Grand" for yourself.
I think the liberal education prepares you
for the outside world so you're not just focused in one area,
but you're able to be well rounded.
It was really interesting my liberal education, it taught me
to think outside the box.
They're able to solve problems, they're able to be creative,
they're able to make links
across the different disciplines.
The professors here at Grand Valley are super friendly,
very approachable.
And their classroom environment is not only welcoming,
but it's fun.
It was a great connection, there was a real relationship there
where they knew my name.
I've never come across a professor
that does not want to help a student.
It's a good relationship that we build,
and I think even sometimes
after they graduate they still keep in touch.
Class sizes are small, so your relationship
with these outstanding teachers
and scholars is a very close one.
You can do some pretty high level research with faculty
who are experts in their field.
There are no teaching assistants at Grand Valley;
here we have personal relationships with our students.
This is a beautiful place.
We're here on these wonderful ridges that plunge
down into the Grand River valley, there's woodlands all
around here, beautiful gardens.
Also downtown you get the urban mix as well,
the DeVos campus is gorgeous.
As far as the campus environment,
big campus, small feel.
All the technology is very important,
the Wi-Fi is incredible no matter where you are at,
and things are just really taken care of here.
It's just very friendly, which is nice, it's home.
It's definitely a great option to live on campus,
and I live on campus and I love it here.
Grand Valley really does a phenomenal job
of making everybody feel
like you're a family together on campus.
I think Laker athletics is about family and dedication.
Grand Valley is the best division 2 program
in the country.
Grand Valley I really feel makes an effort
to educate their students about different cultural backgrounds.
This is our school.
I feel like I am a part of Grand Valley,
I feel like I am Grand Valley.
The financial aid office is extremely helpful.
They answer any questions that you may have,
and they show you resources that you may use
to pay for your education.
I was able to study abroad, I feel like I was able to do a lot
of things within four years.
Not only have I gained book knowledge,
but I've also gained knowledge on life.
The campus couldn't be any more beautiful.
It's really been a one-on-one connection
with pretty much all my professors.
I have gained a really valuable degree
and I know I've been taught well.
I don't think I could have asked for a better experience.
