The days have flown by so rapidly. It is hard to understand that we are about to leave
and tomorrow there is a concert it St.-Petersburg. I am very glad to see the
Perm audience once again, it’s a wonderful and experienced audience.
Every concert happened on a special emotional level. I am happy to do
something good in Perm. I’ve been here 17 times, I’ve played with ballet, played
recitals, played with other musicians. Tonight we have had a marvelous
experience with my young friends: Sergey Krylov, Boris Brovtsyn, Yulia
Deyneka and Alexander Buzlov. I don’t think that the festival closing needs to be
solemn, monumental, with an orchestra, with an oratorio or cantata. I think that
such chamber concerts should happen more often in our philharmonic life.
Besides the well-known concerts by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov, the
popular classics, there are unique, forgotten, almost never performed pieces
– for example, Bartok’s Quintet that we have played. I believe that we will go on
searching for the compositions never heard by anyone. They have their right to
live on the big stage. Well, see you soon! Tomorrow we are moving to
St.-Petersburg, and I will tell you something more from there. Thank you!
