Choosing a sand wedge is very important when you're out on the course. You want to make
sure you have a proper sand wedge for all the different kind of shots you're going to
be hitting. My name is Jared Garbett, with Echo Farms Golf and Country Club, and I'm
going to teach you how to pick a sand wedge. Whenever choosing a sand wedge, you want to
check the bounce of the sand wedge. Some sand wedges have zero bounce, some have bounce
all the way up to ten or fifteen degrees. This is going to tell how much the club is
going to bounce whenever the sand wedge hits the ground. A sand wedge with zero degrees
of bounce tends to dig into the ground a little bit more, whereas a sand wedge with ten or
fifteen degrees of bounce will bounce off the ground more, creating a little cleaner
shot. Sand wedges are extremely important because they're used all over the golf course,
from chipping to full shots. You want to make sure that you have a proper sand wedge. They're
also used for bunker shots, hence the name sand wedge. But you want to make sure you
have the right sand wedge for you. Make sure that the sand wedge matches the loft and lies
of the clubs you have in your bag. This will help consistency when you're choosing all
your different clubs. That's how you choose a sand wedge. Good luck.
