A maid or otherwise known as housekeeper, is someone who comes into a home. There are
lots of different variations. You can come into a home and do a weekly clean. You can
come into a home, and do a one time clean, and when somebody is moving out, or just moving
in. There's also new construction maids, where they go in, once a house is completely finished.
They go in and clean all the dust, all the floors, all the walls, everything ready to
make the home move in ready, for whoever is going to buy it. A maid, is basically, I say,
like a mom. The mom cleans the house. The mom does the laundry. I'm being a little bit,
maybe not the mom, but a dad can do it as well, but that's what they do. They do the
daily grind things, laundry, dishes, scrubbing a bathroom, scrubbing of floors. We wipe down
walls, wipe down switch plates, things of that nature. When I start my day as a maid,
I go into the home, take all my cleaning supplies with me, and my vacuum. I will generally start
on the lower floor. If there's two floors. I'll start in the basement, and I will, I
like to do the hardest things first, so I will start in the bathrooms, and I will scrub
the showers, and the sinks, and the toilets, and vacuum the floor, and get the mopping
done there, and then I will work my way up the stairs, so I kind of work my way out the
door, so I leave nice vacuum lines, and take care of all of that. Then I move upstairs,
and again, take care of the bathrooms. Do the bathrooms first. Scrubbing, wiping down
walls, wiping glass, cleaning the glass. We do then go into the kitchen, and get that
all cleaned up. The dining room mopped under the table, and then we vacuum our way out
the door, so that you have the really nice vacuum lines, and everything smells and looks
really good, when we leave.
