Hello, I'm Hannah Carretero, a guide here at Meadow Brook Hall.
Follow me for an exclusive sneak peek at the behind the scenes tour.
The behind the scenes tour at Meadow Brook is a brand new experience.
On this tour, you will get the chance to see rooms not normally featured on the house tour.
Such as the projection room I'm in now.
The Wilson family often used this room to screen movies and family videos on the wall in the ajoining ballroom.
Guests on the behind the scenes tour will get the chance to travel up the spiral staircase.
This staircase was utilized by both Matilda and Alfred Wilson.
It traverses all four levels of the home.
The behind the scenes tour includes the staff wings. Some rooms that reside here are the kitchens, the maid's quarters, and the floral room.
This year the behind the scenes tours features the newly renovated staff dining room. This is where staff gathered for meals.
Behind the scenes tour guests will also travel the fourth floor of the hall.
Mostly used for storage this level includes
both Frances and Danny Dodge's playrooms.
As you can see both Dodge children had playrooms on the fourth floor which could be accessed from thier bedroom wings below.
Right now, I'm standing in danny's playroom.
Meadow Brook Hall's behind the scenes tours run Memorial Day through Labor Day.
They are on Saturdays and Sundays at noon and one thirty.
Space is limited so we reccomend you come about a half hour before the tour starts to purchase your tickets.
We at Meadow Brook Hall look forward to having you this summer.
