Hi, my name's Lee Perkins. I'm a physical therapist and founder of HandsOnRemedy.com.
Today I'm going to talk about Frozen Shoulder and why you should consider physical therapy
as your first option in the healing process. Frozen Shoulder, also known as Adhesive Capsulitis,
occurs when the capsule of the shoulder joint gets inflamed and tightens up. This capsule
helps to stabilize the shoulder joint and determine its range of motion. So when inflamed,
it can make it really difficult to move your arm overhead, straight out to the side and
behind your back. Frozen Shoulder can be extremely painful making it challenging to perform even
the most basic activities during your day; like getting dressed in the morning or even
brushing your teeth. With early Physical Therapy treatment, you
can maximize your function quickly and cost effectively. On the first visit, your Physical
Therapist will perform differential diagnostic testing to determine your exact condition.
You should then expect a hands-on treatment incorporating specialized techniques to help
get the results you need. Your therapist will also provide a home exercise program specific
to your injury and the training to perform those exercises correctly. Our goal as therapists
is the same as yours; heal quickly and heal permanently. The information you see on our
website and this video should NOT be used to determine your own condition. You should
seek medical advice from a qualified professional first. Find your Physical Therapist now at
HandsOnRemedy.com, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
