I never had much.
No loving family.
No caring friends.
No special talents.
No hope.
I didn't think there was a reason for living,
nor anything after dying.
But that changed.
In my hopelessness, I turned to the One Who gave hope.
I trusted Christ as my Savior
I put Him first in my life, because I knew He was waiting for me at the end of it.
But still,
I didn't see a reason for living.
I still had no loving family, caring friends,
or special talents.
I started asking God why He gave me nothing
even though I thought
I had given Him everything.
But soon,
I didn't care to understand His purpose, and was just mad at Him.
And then one day,
He brought hope to my life.
I was finally happy.
I thanked the Lord for what He had done and began to walk with Him again.
And then He ripped that away!
It was painful!
My hope for living was gone,
and death seemed very desirable.
I almost turned my back on God again,
but I realized something that I hadn't before.
The one Hope that I still had
-- that I would always have --
Christ gave to me with His life.
And this hope is far greater than anything or anyone else can give to me.
And now the giver of this Hope, Christ, lives in me!
Things get tough,
sometimes unbearable.
But that's when I run to the One Who is strong
and remember the Hope of eternity I have in Him.
And my hope in life,
is letting others see the Hope in me.
