- Hello, my name is Thibault Mercier, I am a student of ESSEC’s Advanced Masters Degree in Financial Techniques.
I am currently doing a six-month apprenticeship at Axa Private Equity, as a member of the funds team.
Before studying at ESSEC, I studied general engineering with a special focus on industrial risk management.
Because the issues that interested me most were those related to the creation of new businesses,
and the development of both companies and the economy, I decided to orient my career towards corporate finance.
In order to acquire the necessary technical competences for such a career,
I decided to enroll in ESSEC’s Advanced Masters in Financial Techniques which already had
a well-established reputation as one of the best world-wide.
The ESSEC advanced Master's Degree in Financial Techniques has just been ranked
2nd worldwide by the Financial Times in the category "Masters in Finance Pre-experience 2012".
We are very proud of this ranking, as it is the best international standard.
This excellent ranking reflects our graduates’ abilities to work on the international stage
and also to develop careers in financial centers like London, New York, Hong-Kong or Singapore.
On these criteria of international mobility and about the international specificity of the program
we are ranked number one among the French business schools.
In my opinion, what justifies the Advanced Masters’ ranking by the Financial Times as second worldwide
is the academic quality of the degree and the tracks it offers,
together with the human skills that it offers its students the opportunity to develop.
Another key factor is, I believe, the wide diversity of profiles of its students.
The financiers who graduate from the ESSEC Masters are on top of the current issues of ethics and deontology.
As a consequence, ESSEC students are perfectly equipped to develop sustainable financing
not only within and for companies and their clients, but also for society as a whole.
