I am a member of the 'Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon', the Lyon Opera Ballet.
There are thirty or so of us, dancers from some fifteen countries.
We are classically trained, but it is a contemporary, modern company with an incredible repertoire!
We are very lucky indeed, because we change choreographer frequently.
I've danced Mats Ek's Giselle, Maguy Marin's Cinderella, and Juliet in Preljokaj's Romeo and Juliet.
Every time, even when it's not classical dance, you have to get completely inside the character and thats what I really love.
I have to say that I think the place I like above all others in Lyon, is here.
The very first time I came here and had my morning class in the studio,
I had trouble concentrating, it was so magnificent -I really had trouble!
"Concentrate, you're here to do something".
The Opera in Lyon is somewhere that's pretty much open to all. There's the Peristyle where you can have a drink while you listen to jazz,
and there will be break-dancing going on outside at the same time.
Lyon is the most creative city, there is lots going on,and it's also a very artistic town.
I think I'd like to live here even when I've finished dancing.
