In this clip, I'm going to give you some tips and tricks on applying vehicle graphics. We're
going to talk a little bit about surface preparation. One of the main things you need to remember
is that all vehicles are considered dirty. You need to have a good lint free paper towel
and some good household window cleaner. Simply clean the vehicle as best you can. Make sure
there's no wax or any kind of residue on the vehicle, any type of wax will allow the vehicle
graphics to simply slide off. A good clean vehicle is a happy vehicle when it comes to
applying vinyl graphics. Another thing to remember in surface preparation, after you
get the vehicle good and clean, you need to make sure the temperature of the vehicle.
Make sure the vehicle's not too hot or too cold. The correct temperature for vehicles
for plain vinyls should be about forty degrees or above, for reflective vinyls it should
be about fifty-five. If it's really really hot, in excess of ninety or so, the vinyl
will stretch, causing it to rip or tear as you're applying it. So a good, smooth, clean,
warm vehicle is the best type of vehicle you can have. Any time that the vehicle has any
kind of curves or anything in it, when you put the vinyl on as it's cold, it will not
conform to vehicle. So, moderately seventy degrees, you're good to go.
