Hello and Welcome
Each pilgrim has a story,
why he does the St. James Trail.
This video is telling my story.
I am Steffen A. Pfeiffer
and got aknown to a woman in November 2009
to whom I moved in March 2010.
For her I moved
from southern to northern Germany.
At the same time,
i took a business opportunity in Lübeck.
But in late March 2010 this opportunity broke again
and as result I had a loss for commission
of more than 100,000 €uro.
The economic damage was the reason
for the woman to end the relationship with me.
It turned out that parts of the relationship
had been only financial reasons.
But money is never
a good guide in relationship issues.
So the woman just threw me out of her house in the end of may 2010
And I sat in my car in Hamburg-Moorwerder
and mentioned what to do.
A friend gave me shelter
for a few days in Hamburg.
But on tuesday I left.
With my last 500 €uros,
I owned, in my pocket.
A last phone call with the woman.
She let me know:
"Sign up to a new residence
before going the St. James Trail.
If something happens to you
the police will come to my house.
And I don't want this possibility happen."
"If you are out of any other worries....",
I thought to myself and undetered drove on.
Starting over Hamburg-Moorwerder to Reinbek –
to get the 500 €uros of my banking account –
via Bremen, Saarbrucken to the sanctuary Lourdes.
This journey endured from 01st of june to 05th of june 2010
and had been an experience itself. 43 00:04:54,500 --> 00:05:01,000 After a 2 days stop in the sanctuary I headed
to St. Jean-Pied-de-Port.
And there my journey to the Atlantic Ocean starts.
But let me say first, that I promised
to the *** of Lourdes
to finish my pilgrimage to the ocean.
No matter what happens. Even without money.
So I went
at 08th of June in St. Jean-Pied-de-Port
with destination "Atlantic Ocean".
At the village Puente la Reina
i went on without money.
Because somebody real high high above took my promise
to the *** of Lourdes by word.
I lost my last money,
an amount of about 100 – 150 €uros.
There I stood.
No chance to go forward.
No chance to get home.
In this moment I kept my promise.
And I walked to the Atlantic Ocean,
that I reached by 12th of July 2010.
The miraculous also happened on the way back.
Because the journey ended - by promise - with
the return in Santiago de Compostela.
There I had to try my money card
at two different cash dispensers to
finally receive an amount of 300 €uros.
Although my money card only had been
approved for Germany without the rest of Europe.
With this money in my pocked, I had been able to return.
A way home, starting with a broken relationship,
just because of the money.
But a journey, that challenged and experienced me
and gave good experiences with other pilgrims,
to further confide in me
and the future yet to come.
I am proud and thankful, to have
these experiences, no one is able to take from me.
Eventhough it started out some painful.
The result counts.
And the issue is:
There will be a time in your life,
you realize, who is important to you,
who it never was, and who it never will be.
So - don't think about
the people of your past,
because there is a reason,
that they did not reach your future!
The moments, you'll realize,
who is important to you, return more frequently,
as you think over every single person in your life.
Sort them new.
From friend to acquaintance.
From acquaintance to
"Have-already-met-but-don't-know-really-anything-about-them"
to "Unknown".
If "unknowned", ask yourself, if the person is thrilling enough
to give a 2nd chance to become aknown.
If not. Leave the person alone.
So thanks for watching this video.
