the new you
Hi everybody! Claudia here with Healthy Treasures. Today I'm going to show you how to make some V
8 juice
we are making taco soup tonight for dinner
and i need some v8 juice for it and I like to make my own from scratch
because i can be in control of the ingredients that are in there. the freshness of it. the quality of it.
and really it's quite simple. all you're going to be using
is 12 to 13 tomatoes. i chopped mine in half so that they can fit into my chute.
a fourth of a bunch of parsley
this kind is Italian parsely. you can use any kind.
a fourth of an onion. yellow onion preferrably
three to four stalks of celery and three large carrots
so when you juice - the only tip i can think of giving you
is juice the parsley first. so that the rest of the ingredients can kind of help
wash the parsley through
because they don't have that much juice (obviously)
so im going to do that right now
okay so i'm done juicing the vegetables now
I"m going to use all of it for our taco soup tonight
the different ways you can use this juice is either drink it plain
or you can store it in a glass jar
and stick it in your freezer and use it any time a recipe calls for
tomato sauce like a soup recipe or something like that
and it will
taste delicious in your soup
okay so if you are freezing it just make sure you leave an inch or
an inch and a half
in your jar because it will expand and you don't want it to break the glass
it'll stay good in the freezer for, goodness, I'd say
for at least six months maybe up to 12 months. it's as easy as that.
it can be used for a variety of meals
so there's the v8 juice recipe
hope you like it and I'll talk to you later
bye
"hey mommy?" "yes?" "we're recording"
(laughing)
its as easy as that
