Now that we've pulled our chicken out and it has had time to cool a little bit, we're
going to go ahead and shred it. I love shredded chicken in my tortilla soup because it really
gives it a nice flavor, and I don't like big chunks of chicken floating around. I prefer
that, but if you like chunks of chicken, by all means do that as well. This does take
a little bit more work and more time, so that's kind of the other downfall to that. You can
do it with your fork just like so. Just kind of pull it apart, or you can also do it with
your hand. Whatever works for you. Alright, that looks great. This is also a great way
to use up leftover chicken. If you get one of those chickens from the grocery store,
the rotisserie chickens, it's a really great way to use up any extra meat. Whether it be
chicken breast meat or thigh meat or wing meat, whatever it is just to kind of throw
it in there. Again, if you're a vegetarian, an option would be just to leave out the chicken.
You could actually probably add in some hard tofu to the pot and it would really take on
the flavor of everything else that's floating around in there. Take advantage of the base
and add in different things. We're almost done with shredding our chicken. Now that
that's all done, I'm going to go ahead and throw it into my pot
and let it reheat.
