Today, we're going to be changing the fluid in our four-wheel drive transfer case. In
this step, I'm going to demonstrate the proper service procedure for jacking your vehicle
off the jack stands, removing your jack stands and settling the vehicle back to the ground.
I'm going to go ahead and slide my floor jack underneath this large portion of frame. This
frame actually generates the front axle. I'm going to go ahead and snug down the release
bar and begin jacking it up. We only need to take it up high enough to get it off of
the stands. Alright. Once you have it up off your stands, you can flip the release levers
and remove your stands. I'm going to go ahead and flip this release lever and slide the
stand out. Once you have your stands out from underneath the vehicle, it's no longer safe
to be working underneath it. So you're not going to want to get under there without your
stands. I'm going to go ahead and slowly settle the vehicle down to the ground. You're going
to turn the release bar very little and let the vehicle just settle to the ground. You
can see it's coming down real slow. You don't want to take and put a big turn on the release
valve, your vehicle will come crashing down and possible damaging your jack or the vehicle
itself. That is the proper service procedure for re-jacking your vehicle, removing your
stands and settling the vehicle back to the ground.
