Hi!
Hello!
We are back with our fun facts about Latvia.
Yes.
So today we're going to talk about fun facts, curiosities, things that make us laugh about
Latvia.
Because our cultures are really different from latvian culture.
So there is many things get shocked us, it's like a kind of cultural shock for us.
So we're going to share that in video.
CATS
After our small research we've noticed that
cats here are really big, like big cats.
Like fat.
Yes.
Really fat.
Everywhere you see fat cats.
Not normal cats, just fat, fat, really fat cats.
Yeah.
And cute.
So cute.
Yes.
DOORS
Can you imagine the building where we are living
is without locked.
The main door is without locker.
Without locker?!
But our flat has two doors.
Like a first and second.
Yes.
Why?
Weird.
So everybody can come in.
Like you don't have a key, you don't have a code.
So everyone can open the main door and then when you get to our floor
you have the first door and you have an other door.
So you don't have a really big door or fat door.
You have just two doors.
Why do you need two doors?
You can put like a better door.
But no.
You have a really bad door and another really, really bad door.
So two doors instead a really thick door.
We are really rich with bad doors.
ABOUT OUR ELEVATOR: You look inside and it looks like an elevator from a scary movie
I think it's really good elevator for Hitchcock movies.
EMOTIONS
Latvians are really kind if you know them
and they know you.
But they have quite big distance, emocional distance from each other.
Yes.
You know, for example in my country when we say "hello"
we give hug or we give one kiss or whatever or we shake hands
but here some men sometimes shake hands.
Like hello.
Like this it's enough.
There is no any kind of touch or nothing.
It's weird.
They feel uncomfortable.
No touching Latvians because maybe they will bite you.
But if you make a friendship here.
You'll have really good friends and you can hug them.
Yes. Sometimes.
Maybe sometimes you can touch.
Yeah.
Just little bit.
Maybe when it's birthday you can give a hug.
Sometimes if you're lucky you can give a kiss.
POTATOES
So everything, everything has potatoes.
There are potatoes everywhere.
Like traditional dishes all of them have potatoes.
And soured cream.
And soured cream and dill.
YES.
And everything together.
Without it it's good but with dill it's not for me but in general potatoes with soured cream
and fish.
But potatoes, potatoes, potatoes.
Potatoes pancakes, potatoes chips.
Fritaki.
Fritaki.
And then soured cream also everywhere.
You can eat soured cream on the soup.
You can eat soured cream as a dip.
You can eat soured cream with your pancakes.
You can eat soured cream with garlic bread.
There is soured cream everywhere.
Also in shops.
Also in shops. Yeah.
Ehm.
