Good afternoon Mustangs!
I'm Wes!
And I'm Megan!
And this is your West News.
Today is Thursday, October 24th, 2013.
Tomorrow the low is expected to be 36 degrees with a
high of 71 degrees. Enjoy these warm temperatures while
you can because it's going to drop into the 20s next week
with highs in the 40's and 50's.
Olympic runner Jesse Owens once said, "We all have
dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it
takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-
discipline, and effort." Your dreams are possible to achieve
Mustangs, but you must commit to working hard, living a
healthy life, and staying drug free!
Now to Lucas in sports!
Time for your WJH lightweight football report: The no fat,
low fat mustangs run away with a playoff win against the
Vikings of North!!! The 32 to 0 victory was earned. Scoring
touchdowns were Nett, Schwehr, and Standlee scored
two. 2 point conversions were scored by Toth, Merwin,
and 2 by Nett. The Championship is Monday. Practice
after school today, be there. Aloha! Coaches Hickey and
Porter.
In seventh tennis, the Mustangs have rolled over two
schools in a row. On Monday, it was South. On
Wednesday it was Hillside. The singles squad continues
to improve. Vince, Air Ron, Spencer and Sterling are
showing that they have what it takes to "solve the
problem" and get the win on a consistent basis. On the
girls side, Marianna, Eva, Oceana, and now Rachel are
moving their feet and getting the wins. In "dubs" it's a case
of "doubles destruction"--Jarod and Ryan, Mads and
Paytin, Maddie and Kate Kulchak,. Seabass and Carson,
Hailey and McKella, and Ken and Tome are all working
together and playing smart. Great job team!
All 9th girls planning to try out for basketball this year,
please come to Coach Henderson's classroom for a short
meeting tomorrow at lunch. The meeting will be in room
104 and will start promptly at 12:10.
Don't forget lady Mustangs: 7th and 8th grade basketball
begins tomorrow right after school!
Now back to the studio!
The Halloween Dance is tonight from 6-8. It is your last
chance to buy tickets for $3.00 or they will be $5.00 at the
door. Student ID is required along with your receipt. Come
and have some spooky fun!
Wrestling T-Shirt orders are due to Mr. Rowe by the end of
school tomorrow. Please pay for your shirt then bring Mr.
Rowe the order form and receipt. Shirts cannot be ordered
without the order form and receipt. Thanks! ~ Mr. Rowe
Great job West on the Red Ribbon Door decorations!!! The
judges had a difficult time deciding, so we have two ties!
For first place, and in no particular order: Ms. Somoza and
Mr. Moore's classes have won. In second place, Ms.
Arreola and Mr. Newberry's classes have been selected.
Tomorrow morning, Mr. Moore's and Ms. Somoza's
classes will be receiving Krispy Kreme donuts, while Ms.
Arreola and Mr. Newberry's classes will get an early
Halloween treat! Great job West, and remember to Stay
Drug Free and Follow Your Dreams! Thanks, Mrs. Stoll
The quote of the day is from Albert Einstein. He said, "Life
is like riding a bike. To keep your balance you have to
keep moving." So never give up Mustangs. And never give
in to drugs.
This is Wes!
And Megan!
Stay classy West Jr. High!
