Hey guys! It’s Tish, and I’m really excited to share with you one of my favorite tools
today! I hear a lot from you guys , and one of the main things I hear is that it’s really
hard to be consistent on Social Media accounts and to be tweeting and facebooking consistently.
So I wanted to show you my favorite tool that helps me personally to be consistent and just
all around makes my life easier. And that tool is called Buffer, and it’s awesome
and you’re going to love it! Ok?
So you can find it at Bufferapp.com. Really cool. So this is their homepage and you can
use it with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn and basically it helps you schedule out your
updates to those things and it does it in a really streamline easy way that’s super
easy to understand and use and it’s awesome.
So let me go ahead and go inside my Buffer and show you how easy it is to use.
So this here is my Buffer Dashboard and basically what you do is you type in a tweet or status
update and say “Hey guys what’s up?” and then you select the social media accounts
you want it to go to. So this is also one of my favorite features in that you can schedule
you can have the same status update go to several different social media accounts. Like
I can have it go to my Facebook, Twitter, and my LinkedIn.
So I selected my LinkedIn, my Facebook Page and my Twitter account. And all I do is click
“Add to Buffer” and then here it is! It’s in my queue for LinkedIn. It’s in my queue
for my facebook page. And here it is in my queue for my Twitter. And that’s it!
Now also, another one of my favorite features that really sold me on this tool. Was how
it integrates well in reading articles on let’s say Google Reader. Me personally what
I used to have to do, I’d get the link to an article that I liked- I’d put that in
a spreadsheet along with whatever comment I’d want to say about that and at a later
time I’d have to upload that into Hootsuite and schedule it out for a certain day at a
certain time, and all this stuff. It was really detailed. And it was kinda hard to keep up
with.
So let me show you how easy it is with Buffer. All you do is, your in your Google Reader
you scroll down just a little past the article until you see this little button that says
Buffer. And you just click that little button. And then it shows up with the title of the
article and it already shortened a link to the article. So I can go ahead here and edit
whatever this says or add whatever I want to it and all I do is click, let’s say I
just want it to go my Twitter, I click add to Buffer. And then it’s already in the
Buffer for my Twitter one.
Also, another really cool feature is that when you go into the article, let’s say
you just want to…. Sometimes there is just one sentence that you really like and just
really resonated with you and you just want to share with people. “The only way to be
authentic is to be authentic.” I highlight that. Then I go onto my browser and click
my little buffer tool. That’s pretty easy to install as well it grabs that sentence
that I highlighted and then has a shortened link to the article. And that’s it! It’s
really that simple! It’s so easy and then I can just go ahead and schedule it out to
let’s just say, to go to my LinkedIn and then I just click Add to my Buffer.
I come back to my Dashboard and there it is. How easy is that? And it’s really cool because
you can go ahead and schedule out what times you want stuff to go out. For me personally,
for my LinkedIn I just have it go out everyday a little before 9am and I can do different
scheduling for each of my different accounts. For some of them I have a lot of tweets going
out and see it’s just so easy to integreate with and just really easy to work with.
So I hope that you guys really enjoyed Buffer and that it’s a tool you guys use in the
future!
