Lyon Gaming is a new team, established in April 2013 without the worry of harboring
players of the same nationality. The team was founded by Karzek, the manager, Fragio
and Nikez. Their initial roster consisted of Uri (Mid),
Careira(Support), h4ckerv2 (Jungler), Cahdez (AD Carry) and Fragio (Top). Although they haven't
participated in any major championship qualifiers before the consecration in Latin America, they
were already considered one of the greatest teams of the scene, as the level of players
were really high. In late April the two biggest additions to
the roster would arrive: Seeiya occupying the role of AD Carry and Porky, entering as
a substitute player in Top. In May, the final changes: Carreira quits
the team for personal reasons and Nerzhul is called to your place. Porky becomes the
official top laner with Fragio turning sub. Although they didn't participated in any league
of great importance (due to the recent opening of the Latin American servers), Lyon Gaming
performed really well in the NA 5v5 ranked queues, where they managed to reach #1 in
the ranking. It's first official competition was the qualifiers
for Latin America North, where they entered due to a first place in an online tournament.
In the finals of the tournament, the challenge was against the team Arenales Net Games. With
two wins in a row they conquered the championship and the chance to compete in the Latin America
region finals. They grand finals were somewhat easy, due
to most of the stronger opponents play in the North conference, the adversary was Team
LoL Cave of Argentina in a match Bo5. In a smooth series to Lyon, a 3-0 win, with
stomps in the first two matches. In the third, though at a slower pace at the beginning,
the team constructed an advantage teamfight after teamfight thanks to the excellent positioning
of Seeiya and an intensive front line tankyness by h4ckerv2 and Porky.
The strength of Lyon Gaming lies mainly in their individual values. Seeiya and Nerzhul
are a synchronized and dangerous bot lane, since both players play very aggressive, bringing
kills in the laning phase. Allied to this, both have fantastic mechanical skills with
their champions. Porky, when set with a certain champion, can
become another problem since he constantly punishes the opponent in top lane, creating
another threat to the enemy team. Uri is another player to be seen up close,
since outside his roaming, he isn't the best duelist in mid lane, but offers great potential
in team fights, especially with champions like Lissandra, Orianna and Ryze.
The style of the team is very similar to the some Chinese teams and is also notable an
influence of the American Cloud9. Featuring individually strong players, the team plays
in an extremely aggressive way, so they can ensure overall goals as quickly as possible.
This is very evident by the frequent desire of the team to put Seeiya and Nerzhul in a
2v1 lane, which gives them a quick way to destroy the enemy tower and a full transition
to other goals. Thanks to this natural pressure of their bot, the opposing jungler is forced
to be defend that lane, causing h4ckerv2 take to safely gank other lanes and counter-jungle.
Although they don't have an extremely coordinated team fight, they ultimately overcome the enemy,
thanks to the tremendous advantage established in the laning phase.
Although they have one of the most dangerous and synchronized bot lanes of the tournament
at the same time is one of the most aggressive ones. Seeiya likes to print the maximum possible
advantage over his opponent and Nerzhul follows him, always giving the greatest possible amount
of harass, this causes them both to be extremely advanced in lane.
A good alternative to try to defeat Lyon Gaming lies in punishing the excess of aggression
in the bot lane by camping it and not allow them to grow in the game. In mid it's up to
the oppose mid laner to prevent Uri's roam, since it is his strongest tool, you might
wanna try to do this because he it is not usually aggressive in a 1v1. Caution is needed
in the top, but it's worth the same advice applied to Seeiya: Porky is usually aggressive
and this opens loopholes for potential ganks in the lane, which should be well used by enemies.
The highlight of the team is Seeiya. Despite
his young age, is already an experienced player and has very good mechanical skills with all
champions he plays. His aggressive style combines really well with his team, always seeking
global goals fairly quickly and taking advantage of their individual strengths to beat the
opponents in the beginning. Switching lanes can be a bad idea for any team willing to
face Lyon Gaming since Seeiya is even more comfortable in this type of situation and
can usually kill the opponent really fast. Because of his aggressive style, AD Carrys
with poke and escapes are his main picks. In team fights we also notice his aggressive
style as Seeiya proceeds to fight enemies whenever he can, always maintaining impeccable
positioning, which guaranteed very few deaths throughout the Latin American qualifiers.
Furthermore, he became well known playing in NA server due to his high Elo since Season
2 and continuing during Season 3. He is considered one of the greatest revelations of LoL in
the world since he has only 17 years and have always played at a high level, especially
against players already known to the American scene.
In the competitive scene he always played for Mexican teams, first for Deadnakai Gaming,
then Team Majestic until he reached Lyon Gaming. He has an extensive pool of champions such
as Ezreal, his main champion, Ashe and Vayne. He may give us surprises at Gamescom since
he used Corki in the qualifiers and got good results.
He is currently Challenger in three servers, NA, Latino America South and Latino America North.
Uri is the only member of the roster member who is not Mexican. He is Uruguayan and began
his career recently, since he never had interest in playing competitively until the opening
of the Latin American servers by Riot. He has a pool champion highly variable with
assassins like Zed and Ahri or even more utility mid laners like Orianna and Lissandra. In
both cases he usually take advantage of the opponents carelessness to roam and ensure
extra kills for the team. He is considered the safe haven of the team, being the least
aggressive member and ensuring some security in his lane, even in 2v1 situations.
Uri is Diamond I in NA servers and Challenger in Latin American North.
Porky was called to the line in April 2013 as a reserve player for Fragio and readily
accepted because the infrastructure of the new team. He is a quiet and shy player but
it didn't take long for him to become the official top laner for Lyon Gaming because
of his skills. Even playing with champions that don't have
a good duel potential, he is an extremely aggressive player who harass his opponents
in lane all the time, creating an advantage in cs and potential kills. Seen his aggressive
style, Porky usually looks to build items more focused damage and less to utility or
resistance. In team fights his role comes down to attack the enemy back line, allowing
the rest of the team to take down opponents without being bothered. His main champions
are Kennen, Rumble and Renekton, with the latter being his favorite pick and which he
can generate more pressure. He is Challenger is NA, and Diamond I in LAN.
h4ckerv2 is the team captain. Seeiyas friend, played along with him in Deadnakai Gaming
and Team Majestic and it was h4acker that sent him the invitation to enter Lyon Gaming.
It is known to be a jungler that always prioritize ganks, not giving special attention to any
particular lane but always seeking global goals and creatinf advantages for his team.
In his champion pool we see Nautilus, Nunu, Jarvan IV and especially his Tryndamere jungle,
champion with who he has become very recognized in the NA server and that usually guarantees
him a different style, more focused on split-push and slaughtering the opponent AD Carry.
He is challenger in both NA and LAN servers. Nerzhul is Seeiyas companion in the bot lane
since his beginning in competitive play. It was another player invited by h4ckerv2 due
to the synergy formed between them at earlier times. In ranked queues, when not playing
support, he usually plays AD Carry, a fact that gives him an extra level of knowledge
about his opponents and allows him to shape his picks better according to what Seeiya
need. His favorite picks are: Sona, Lulu and Thresh.
He is also known as one of the best Threshs the Latin American scene particularly for
his accuracy with Death Sentence and his ability to protect Seeiya.
He is currently Challenger in NA and Diamond I in LAN.
