Hello
My name is Kennedi, and for the past year, I have had the privilege of being the KiDz
HuB Media Network President. Having had prior broadcasting experience with KiDz HuB as the
book club radio host, I accepted the presidential position with "gratitude, humility and elation."
On the same three terms, I now step down from this position, and into the role of mentor.
As both book club segment host, and as president, I have enjoyed an incredibly unique opportunity.
I was able to choose books that I had read in a classroom setting, and show my peers
that literature could be appreciated in a more leisurely context.
The Book KluB was my forum, where I shared my ideas and interpretations, pried the ideas
open with thought-provoking questions and themes, then encouraged Hubbers to do the
same.
I graciously, and humbly reflect on this broadcasting experience, realizing more and more that KiDz
HuB serves as the microcosm of what our world could be if more youth were given opportunities
to take creative control of their ideas into execution.
I enthusiastically begin my new role as a KiDz HuB mentor. I began my tenure with the
KiDz HuB Book KluB by calling in to give brief summaries of some of my favorite books that
I hoped would become favorites of everyone who was listening.
As I became more I was able to transform my content into more of a facilitated discussion.
From experimenting with formats, and not always sticking to my own script, I learned first-hand
which factors contribute to a successful segment. I look forward to encouraging Junior Broadcasters
to allow their personalities to shine through, and most importantly, to have as much fun
with their segments as I have.
I excitedly move into my new role as mentor at KiDz HuB , an organization that continuously
recalibrates the status quo so that smart is the new cool.
Thank you, Kennedi Williams-Libert
