Hi my name is Lori with Figs Catering in Austin, Texas on behalf of Expert Village today we
are going to show you how to make a entire Thanksgiving meal. Now once we have seasoned
the outside of our bird it is important to season the inside of our turkey. So all we
are going to do is start with the salt and pepper and I'm just going to make sure that
I season the inside of the turkey with salt and pepper. Just like so with the salt and
the same thing with the pepper. Now I have a little bit of my sage butter left over so
I'm going to go ahead and put that in the inside of my turkey. What this is going to
do it is going to flavor the bird from the inside out and really give a nice flavor.
Now some people like to use stuffing on the inside of the there turkey and I really don't
like to do that because what happens is the inside of the turkey has to cook to a 165
degrees to kill of any bacteria and salmonella while that is happening the outside of your
turkey or your turkey breast meat is really becoming over cooked in my option. So I really
prefer to cook it as is. Now it is nice to add you can add some lemons, you can add some
oranges in here, you can add garlic cloves, onions, there are all sorts of things you
can add in here to flavor the bird from the inside out. But like I said I really do recommend
not using stuffing and that is how you season the inside of your turkey.
