St. Baldrick's is a nationwide event where participants shave or donate their hair and
that's to raise money for cancer research. This is the third year that we're doing it
at UofL and we're hoping to wildly surpass our goal already. It's just hair. Getting
a little more scared about it as time goes by, but it's always something that'll grow
back. It's always just the littlest bit I can do to support and I'm excited. It's all
going. All of it. I joined St. Baldrick's here just because of what I was moved by when
I was undergoing treatment for cancer a couple years ago. I was at Massachusetts General
Hospital in Boston because I had a rare type of bone cancer of the skull and while I was
there I had a morning sessions and there were a lot of kids there and I was very moved by
one boy in particular who was, he was having a tough time and he just, he didn't understand
why he had to go through these treatments. And that's really like why I wanted to get
involved in raising funds is that maybe we can, you know, contribute to something beneficial
so that kids who just don't understand why they have to go through this, we can help
them and ease their suffering and so things won't be as rough.
