This is your Gateway Project Update for Thursday, August 23, 2012.
Electrical work continues for the lighting and toll booths in the plaza area.
Ongoing electrical work also continues along Fort Street.
This work will complete the relocation of street lighting in conflict with the truck road to Canada.
The center left-turn lane on Fort Street will remain closed until September 30
from approximately St. Ann Street to West Grand Boulevard for completion of this electrical work.
Drainage pipe and structures are being installed on the maintenance access roadway.
New curbs are scheduled to be installed along this roadway next week.
Seven of eight toll booths have been relocated to their permanent locations in the southwest quadrant of the plaza.
Four of these seven booths are operational and currently in use;
electrical and concrete work are taking place to complete the other three.
One additional booth still needs to be relocated.
Work continues to relocate and reconstruct the bridge pier columns
originally built by DIBC in conflict with the proposed roadway from the freeway to the bridge.
This work will continue through next week.
Traffic continues to flow safely and efficiently through the work zone.
Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained to the duty-free facilities and the Ambassador Bridge.
