>>Jo : Um I've been working in health policy for a llittle while, I thought that it would be
really helpful for my career and it was. You know, I'm now managing
a policy area. Some people from the University of Sydney came down to canberra um... and to the A C
T health the health directorate and talked about the course. It definately has
fulfilled my expectations. It covers everything from the perspectives of researchers,
and implementers, evaluaters and all in one course and, you know
the people who they, the quality of people that come and present has been
really impressive.
Yeah I really enjoyed the global health policy unit I found that um...
that's been the stand out one. I found that really interesting and it um
sort of thought it opened my eyes to a a
future career. You know, this course was really appealing because it's really flexible
and they do they do block release. Block release great because I just take a couple
of days um out
and come down here and do intensive work and then I get to go home and
and work on the assessment pieces. Ah so I study from home
using the e-learning so
it suited my requirements. In terms of the stu... other students in the
in the course there's a really wide spectrum of people working for ngo's in
government, um... university students have just completed their undergraduate
people in the private sector, [sound of students talking] people working medical professions so, it's um
you get a really diverse
diverse opinions and experience which is really useful [talking ends]
It covers the broad spectrum of what it.. what is involved in health policy
and it's,
it's a really flexible and can accommodate your needs and there's a, you know,
a really high calibre of presenters and people involved in delivering the course.
Any, anyone who's interested in health policy and wants to get a better understanding
of that
it's a perfect course.
