Good afternoon boys and girls. Today I'm going to show you what you need to do when you're
in small group rotations. In order to begin today, you're going to click on the blue E
for Internet Explorer and you're going to bring up the internet and you're going to
type in my website-MrsTolson.wikispaces.com. You're going to go over to the navigation
bar and click on 'Week 8.' Once you click on 'Week 8,' our activities this week are
about Gullah culture and slave life. The first activity you're going to click on Gullah Net,
which will bring you to this website. And on this website, you can listen to Gullah
Tales, different stories about Gullah culture and stories that they passed down, you can
listen to Gullah music, you can listen to people talking in Gullah, and you can learn
about Gullah events. When you finish, you will close out of that. Go back to my website
and you're going to click on link 2, which is Slave Life. It will take you to this Scholastic
website where you will learn about the life of a slave. There is a lot to read here and
to help you, you may click on this headphone button that says 'Listen.' ("My name is Walter
and I was born a slave in Virginia.") As you click on that button, it will read to you.
There are also these brown circles that you can click on and, when you click on them,
they will bring up extra resources that will help you learn more about slavery. And, once
again, you can click 'Listen' and you can stop it. Make sure you click on all of these
information pieces and then click 'Continue' to the next page. Those are your instructions
today for small group!
