Hi, welcome to Expert Village, I'm Gretchen Soares with Butterfly Boutique. So now we're
going to press in our hem. If you recall, I said we we're going to do a four inch double
roll. So we want to get our seam gauge which has a nice little thing that we can mark where
we're going and mark it at four inches. And we're going to press the first line at four
inches. Sometimes it's helpful at this point to grab your pin dish and go ahead and just
pin it in to the ironing board and get the next one marked so you know where you're heading.
That's the nice thing about having a padded ironing board, you can just stick the pins
right in. Again pressing up and down not side to side distorting it. Using lots of steam.
There's the first half. We're going to go ahead and do the second half. Make sure we're
nice and straight and press. Now to do our second one because we don't want this nice
salvage edge showing, we're going to re-roll so that our finished product is going to have
this nice folded edge on the side instead of the raw edge of the fabric. Four inch,
put a pin in and press. Now because this is important, we want a nice straight seam on
the hem we're going to go ahead and put a couple pins in just to make sure that holds
its place.
