My name is Courtney on behalf of Expert Village and in this clip I'm going to show you a fun
way for your kids to practice matching numbers and also addition. For younger kids, being
able to recognize numbers and match numbers is very important, it's the basics of math.
So, dominoes is a great way to practice that. You can take a set of dominoes and divide
them among how many people are going to be playing, I'll divide these into two, two groups.
I'll put one down first and then the other person playing, the child playing will see
if they have a domino that matches that. Then they would put down this one and again I would
see if I have one to match and so on. To add the component of addition if your children
are a little bit older and ready to add you could have them add the dots on the domino
that they've put down and make those their points. So for example, it's my turn and I
put down this one, I could add up twelve and ten to get twenty-two and those would be my
points for this turn. Then the other person would go, and they are going to get five points
for that turn, and so on until you're out of dominoes.
