Dear Tristen, How is life in London?
It's been awhile since we last heard from you.
Are you very busy with the upcoming exams?
Remember to have proper meals, drink plenty of water, go out with your friends and take a break from all that studying.
Most importantly, get enough sleep each night. The tests are important, but so is your health.
We're doing fine on our side. We recently moved into a new apartment and we like this place a lot.
It's nearer to your little brother's school
and more convenient to shop for groceries. Seems just like yesterday, the house still
filled with joy and laughter,
that front porch you used to play at while taking a break
and training to get into your school's basketball team.
It's vacant now. You've grown up so soon and are currently living and studying abroad on your own.
It must be cold in London! The temperatures dipped below zero the whole of last week,
have you got enough clothing to keep yourself warm?
We still have some winter jackets (your dad's) and we can send them over to you, along with
some other things you miss from home.
I still pass by that slope we used to take to your school, I can vividly remember the times when you missed your alarm and overslept,
how you'd dash up that hill at top speed missing the late coming prefect on duty by only a matter of seconds.
And do you remember the times I met you at the bus stop near your school,
to bring you homemade packed lunches because you had to stay back in school for remedial and extra classes?
It was such a hassle then, but right now, I really miss those days...
When you next come home, mummy will cook for you, your all time favourite chicken wings and bak kut teh.
We miss you alot (especially your father, even if he doesn't show it)
and please call home when you're free, we'll be waiting. Take care of yourself. Love always, Mum.
Singapore had always been there for me...
why haven't I done the same?
