In agility there are many different types of obstacles. Many are to just jump over or
through. And there are also many obstacles called contact obstacles. An example which
is in front of me. This is the teeter totter and like all contact obstacles, they have
a different color at each end so that there's a clear marker where you dog should enter
and land and finish the obstacle. It is important that your dog hit the entry end with it's
front feet and hit the landing end with it's feet. If they jump over these getting on or
off the obstacle they will end up with faults and be disqualified. So Karma is going to
show you how we do the teeter. Karma teeter, good oop, as you see she stops at the end
and we teach them to stop at the ends so they're paying attention to their handler before they
run off to the next obstacle. This also keeps them slow in this situation so when they are
in the excitement of competition they will still hit it when they're running full blast
and not stopping.
