So I will talk about
the new release of SAMCEF Wind Turbines
This version has been developed with 3 major objectives
First, to be able to reduce the time of simulation
then increase the accuracy of the result
and reduce the risk of
an error
during the simulation process
The first point is dealing with
the moving frames
The moving frames give the capacity to the user to
post-process a result at a node
but referring to another node that is moving in the time
and in space
For example, it can be used this moving frame to
post-process the displacement of the tip of a blade
regarding to a reference node that is
positioned at the blade root
that we can know
even if the blade is rotating
we can know what are the deflections
This improvement allows
to reduce
the risk in transforming
the result from a frame to another
and ensure always a correct
transformation
The second improvement deals with the coupling between SAMCEF Wind Turbines and
LMS Virtual.Lab Durability
In this improvement, the idea is to be able to
transfer
the loads computing
in SAMCEF Wind Turbines
to LMS Virtual.Lab Durability in automatic
process
This allows the user to
reduce
the number of mistakes
he could make passing from a load computation software to a fatigue analysis software
and with this improvement
the user can
post-process the local
fatigue analysis on the component
in SAMCEF Wind Turbines
For the third improvement, we wanted to focus on
the offshore analysis
the idea is
to give the capacity to the user
to bring a full Finite Element model
into the assembly
without increasing the time of computation
For that we used a Super Element technique
that we will load by
hydrodynamic loads
and hydrostatic loads
This gives the capacity
to be able to look
at the distribution of stresses in the structure
for all the loads cases required by a fatigue
analysis for example
These improvements are of course not the only ones
We improved the cosmetic by
giving the capacity to draw the blade profile
into the post-processing animation
We improved the load cases by an automatic update
of the
Wind Turbines parameters for preloaded load cases
and we
bring new batch mode capacity to
be able to
launch and to create and launch analysis
out of the GUI using
a text file
