My name's Andy. I'm a singer/songwriter and I've
done a bit of sculpture. Here we are in the
beautiful national capital sculpture gardens.
I've been - had the disability support now for about
two and a half years. I've done a lot of things.
Had a few businesses, and been unemployed as well.
I'm climbing back from being quite disabled.
Sometimes in life, you get knocked down and you need
a bit of help up, and I've been helped out quite a lot
with this system. Taken me from being with big problems,
to the point here, where I can smile and say that "you can have
your own choices in life, you just have to put the effort in."
Go for it. When I got my letter, I thought
"Well, here's another letter. Everything's going to change."
But, there are no changes. There's a much better range
of providers. I can change to a provider if I want to and
the level of service, stays the same, no matter who I'm with.
If you do want to change, it's - it's not a problem.
You go on the website, on the JobSearch website or phone the
1800 number, select your new provider, that's if you want -
it's your choice - and then stay with the provider you're with at
the moment until early March. They'll help you transfer over.
There's plenty of information. I had a look on the - the website.
There's information there, and obviously the letter and my
provider, can give me as much information as I need.
Tell me all about it. My advice to them will be just talk
to the provider that you've got now, look at the website,
check it all out. You'll see that there's - it's all
being handled really well. There's nothing to worry about.
It's going to be smooth and easy and has - it's already started.
So you know, we haven't got anything to worry about.
Just carry on.
