ArchiCAD slabs are flexible and can be edited at any stages of the design
with graphical methods or with numerical input in the parameter fields.
To edit slabs with parameters select them and change their parameters
like physical dimensions, floor plan representation or material
in the Slab Setting dialog or in the Info Box.
ArchiCAD also provides intuitive graphical editing capabilities
with, which you modify, the slabs' main geometry.
Graphical editing is available in floor plan, section, elevation
as well as in 3D perspective and axonometric views.
Simply select the slab
and click on its different points.
The Pet Palette appears
and you can choose from many editing options, including slant angle,
height,
thickness, bending etc. The content of the Pet Palette is
context sensitive.
Different options are available in floor plan, section
and 3D perspective views.
Here are just a few examples of what you can modify with the Pet Palette:
you can add new points to the polygon,
curve edges,
offset side edges or even the entire polygon
(to do this you have to click on a corner point),
add or remove polygons,
customize side edges,
elevate and change thickness (only for single skin slabs).
Similar to other ArchiCAD elements slabs can be displayed according various local
architectural standards.
Floor plan and section representation parameters are available in the
Floor Plan and Section tab page
of the Slab Setting dialog.
Here you define the pens, fills and other attributes of slabs components in different 2D views.
Furthermore you can precisely set how slabs are
displayed in multistory buildings.
The previous settings were applied on individual slab elements however there are
some general display options, which affect all the slabs
in a particular view:
Model View Options, Partial Structure Display and Renovation Settings can be saved
with each view, allowing you to show your slabs as needed along the entire lifecycle
of the project.
You can see how versatile these setting options are
as I've shown you in this section view.
Since slabs in ArchiCAD are real 3D model elements, their physical and
BIM properties are always calculated accurately.
You can quickly create Slab lists and quantity take-offs with the
ArchiCAD Interactive Schedule.
Make a new schedule, filter for slabs and choose which
parameters or properties you want to display.
There is a wide range of parameters to choose from, including
cross section areas, surface areas, volumes etc.
Double clicking on the list shows you the table I've just created.
