DIR. HUNTER WEEKS: The early period in your life when you were very young - with kerosene
lanterns.... WALTER: Well in South Dakota - that's where us kids were all growing up
- no electricity, kerosene lamps. How would you like to get along without that? Same as
the farmers out here. All the farmers - no electricity, ol' hail bailer lamp - going
out to the barn to feed the horses. That's the difference. Look what's happened today.
Farmers have all got new houses, everything new - and that's your changes, you see. And
radio and television certainly did improve the country. It helped people.
