For all its changes, enhancements, and features Reason's rack has grown and evolved
over the past decade with one central focus... making your music better than ever
Introducing Reason 7
Now, Reason has a rack for your instruments.
The new External MIDI Instrument bridges the gap between the virtual Reason rack and
and the synths or drum machines that surround your studio. It is the gateway to advanced hardware
integration, external sequencing, and even controlling your MIDI instruments through control voltage
signals from other Reason devices.
And with Reason 7's new audio editing, your recordings can be sliced up automatically into single notes
and quantized for crisp perfection. Taking things further, sliced audio can be exported in REX format,
bringing your recordings into Dr. Octorex's world of radical slice juggling, tweaking, glitching, and general loop abuse.
Reason has a rack for mixing too.
The large mixer in Reason was designed for modern sounding, professional mixes and Reason 7 takes that to the next level.
Big mixes with hard hitting drums are now just a right-click away. Create new parallel channels -
splitting a mix channel's signal off for extreme parallel processing like New York style compression.
New intuitive channel grouping makes mixing and busing with subgroups easy.
Control levels for track groups, like a whole drum kit, all at once... or apply insert effects like compression,
distortion, or filters to group channels and treat many tracks like one signal for processing.
And when you want to truly visualize your sound, whether to identify problem frequencies or just carefully shape your mix,
calling up Reason 7's new Spectrum EQ window gives you a live view of your sound.
Adjust the EQ curve and see the frequency spectrum change in realtime.
And of course, Reason 7 has a rack to inspire.
Reason 7's Factory Soundbank is getting expanded with new loops for guaranteed inspiration. With modern styles from big room house,
to dub step, and even metal, you're sure to find something to push your music in new and exciting directions.
And there's even more inspiration to come. Soon we'll be unveiling the Audiomatic Retro Transformer, an effect unit that adds instant vintage flavor to your tracks.
Your instruments, your perfect takes, your own REX files, your new mixing tools, and sounds to launch a thousand new songs...
Reason has a rack for that.
