CORE NO MORE... WHILE THE
ORANGE BARRELS ARE
DISAPPEARING... SMILES ARE +
(APPEARING ON FACES ALL OVER
UTAH COUNTY. I-15
IS CLEAR OF
THE CONES!
ADOBE ADDITION... ANOTHER
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT RIGHT OFF
THE FREEWAY IS ALSO COMING TO
AN END.. AS LEHI'S NEWEST
BUSINESS OFFICIALLY OPENS ITS
DOORS.
AND ELECTION EVE... AFTER
MONTHS OF CAMPAIGNING...
WATCHING ADS.. AND GETTING
ROBO CALLS... IT ALL ENDS
TOMORROW! WE'LL LOOK AT THE
RACE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE.. AND
SOME LOCAL RACES THAT ARE
CLOSER THAN YOU MAY THINK.
I'M ASHLEY MUNGUIA.
AND I'M JEN BENSON.
IT'S MONDAY NOVEMBER 5TH,
AND IN UTAH IT'S TWELVE O'
'CLOCK.
IT'S FINALLY OVER!...THE I-15 CS
COMING TO A CLOSE.
AND ELEVENNEWS REPORTER
KATHLEEN KELLER SPOKE TO
PEOPLE AT U-DOT ABOUT THE
FINISHING TOUCHES. SO KATHLEEN
IT SEEMS LIKE FOREVER AGO WHEN
THE WHOLE THING STARTED?
IT'S BEEN THIRTY--FIVE
MONTHS SINCE CONSTRUCTION
STARTED AND TODAY...ALL THE
LANES FROM SPANISH FORK TO
LEHI ON THE I-15 OPENED.
PEOPLE IN UTAH COUNTY CAN
FINALLY SEE THE LIGHT AT THE
END OF THE TUNNEL... AND THERE
AREN'T ORANGE BARRICADES IN
THE WAY.###
KIMBALL BARKER AND HIS
BANDMATES USE I-15 ALL THE
TIME TO GET TO GIGS... ONCE HE
HEARD ABOU
T THE END OF
CONSTRUCTION, HE BREATHED A
BIG SIGH OF RELIEF.
"I'm excited. The rate of
travel is gonna be much
quicker and it'll just be
more accessible."
THE PROJECT RECONSTRUCTED
TWENTY-FOUR MILES OF THE
HIGHWAY. TODAY...U-DOT OPENED
THE FINAL TWO LANES GOING EACH
DIRECTION FROM SPANISH FORK TO
LEHI. WHICH COMPLETES THE
PROJECT. THEY ORIGINALLY
PLANNED TO OPEN IN
DECEMBER...BUT DOING MOST OF
THE CONSTRUCTION WORK AT NIGHT
WHICH ALLOWED THEM TO GET MORE
WORK DONE. THIS SPED UP THE
PROCESS FOR CONSTRUCTION
WORKERS. UDOT SAYS THAT
PEOPLE WILL NOW KNOW WHERE
THEIR EXIT IS AND NOT MISS IT.
"People have had to get used
to these changing conditions
throughout this whole
construction process and it'
)s been difficult to know what
was gonna happened each night
and so now those ramps will be
in their permanent spot."
IT'S NOT ONLY THE LARGEST
HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
IN UTAH...BUT THE FASTEST
BILLION-DOLLAR PUBLIC HIGHWAY
PROJECT COMPLETION IN THE
COUNTRY.###
U-DOT SAYS THERE ARE STILL
SOME FINISHING TOUCHES LEFT TO
DO. AND THEY'LL WRAP THOSE
UP BY DECEMBER.
WILL THOSE LITTLE TOUCHES
AFFECT TRAFFIC FLOW?
NOTHING BIG...JUST LITTLE
DETAILS LIKE LANDSCAPING,
FENCING AND CONCRETE WORK. BUT
ALL OF THAT WILL BE DONE AT
NIGHT SO IT WON'T AFFECT
TRAFFIC DURING THE DAY.
THANKS KATHLEEN.
HIGHLAND CITY OFFICIALS ALSO
FINISHED A MAKEOVER PROJECT TO
ONE OF THEIR BELOVED PONDS.
THE MAYOR SAYS HIGHLAND GLEN
POND WAS LOOKING PRETTY BAD A
YEAR AGO WITH MURKY WATER AND
WEEDS PLAGUING THE PAVILLION.
CREWS HAVE NOW FIXED ALL OF
THAT PLUS ADDED ADDITIONAL
PARKING FOR VISITORS. THEY
ALSO CREATED MORE PARK
SPACE... IMPROVED THE
PLAYGROUND AREA... AND ADDED A
BOAT RAMP.###
THE PROVO FIRE DEPARTMENT IS
ALSO PUTTING ON THE FINISHING
TOUCHES FOR A NEW TRAINING
FACILITY. FIREFIGHTERS DID IT
ALL THEMSELVES...RENOVATING AN
ABANDONED TRAILER AT A
FRACTION OF WHAT IT WOULD HAVE
COST. THE TRAINING COMPLEX
CAN HOLD MORE PEOPLE THAN
THEIR OLD CLASSROOM AND HELPS
TRAIN MORE FIREFIGHTERS IN
LESS TIME.###

"Movember is prostate cancer

breast cancer awareness month,
except the men instead of
wearing pink or something like
that, they all grow their
mustaches out."
MOVEMBER IS MUCH MORE TO
GREENLAW THAN JUST NOT SHAVING
TO MAKE HIS WIFE MAD.
"My grandfather has it. It's
in my family and I have the

of it."
"Greenlaw has even rallied his
friends to this cause. Each
November they shave on the

mustaches grow for the next 30
days.When it's all over they
reward themselves by getting a
classic style shave at a
