Hello hello!
Space Cook and The Crew are celebrating.
We made it to the 10th episode!
We’re gonna mark the moment by cooking a decadent orange & dark chocolate tart.
Here are the ingredients.
Let’s start with the crust.
Turn on the oven at 180 C.
We’re using vanilla cookies for the crust. Crush ‘em all!
Add some almond flakes.
Add one cup of mixed seeds - sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and flax.
Then beat one egg.
Melt 30g of butter. Add it to the cookie mix.
Stir well.
When it’s become homogenous, distribute it evenly on the bottom of a springpan.
Put the springpan in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes.
In the meantime melt the chocolate in a bain-marie.
Set the fire to medium.
For the orange cream… beat the eggs with spatial sugar, that is, Stevia extract.
(The Crew) Why is the show called Space Cook?
Because it’s science-fiction!
We’re adding to the culinary science the “fiction” or artistic counterpart.
We’re spatial because we’re alternative.
(The Crew) Do you think our audience thinks this way?
Well… if they haven’t so far, they will from now on.
Now, add some vanilla essence…
Some cognac…
Grate some ginger.
Add the sour cream.
Add the sour cream. [punch kick punch kick]
Grate the zest of 4 oranges.
Squeeze the oranges. Add the juice to the cream.
One more aggressive moment… beat the cream! [punch kick punch kick]
In the meantime we’ve taken the crust out of the oven. Let it cool for a couple of minutes.
Add a little butter to the melted chocolate.
Pour the chocolate over the crust.
The second layer of luscious pleasure.
Distribute chocolate evenly over the crust surface.
Recap… we’ve got eggs, Stevia, sour cream, orange juice and zest, vanilla, ginger, and…
(The Crew)… and cognac!
Yes, and cognac.
On we go to the oven!
And let it take a 50-minute nap, on medium fire.
In the 10th episode, we’re using white sugar for the first time!
Because we’re making caramel sauce. And Stevia extract doesn’t sound like a good option.
So put 150g of sugar and 2 tbsp of water in a pan, on medium fire. Wait until it caramelizes.
Don’t lose patience, this will take a while!
Three oranges to go… Grate the zest over the sugar.
Bubbbbbbbles...
The caramel should look something like this.
Add the orange pulp and juice.
Don’t worry, it’s normal that the caramel turns into firm sugar blocks!
[Meanwhile… Earthlings talking]
And we’re back to take it out of the oven!
Let’s decorate it with the orange caramel sauce.
Oh well Earthlings… this is what we get at the 10th landing.
As you can see, there are dots after “10”, which means we’re set on landing again.
[Earthlings talking]
Mmmm, yummy!
This is my new No. 1 cake!
Join us next time for episode 11!
