What I love about Pier 1 Imports is that it’s a people first organization.
It’s very important that we get great results.
It’s about how we run that business and it is through our people.
The Pier 1 Imports experience when you walk into a store
evokes a lot of different senses.
We have great fragrances,
embroidered textiles that come from India,
hand-blown glass out of Spain,
and we have hand carved furniture from Indonesia.
We’re allowed to be a little quirky because of our merchandise.

We have over a 1000 stores in North America and
we happen to be in 49 of the 50 United States.

Teamwork is a really important concept because each of us has a job to do,
but it’s how they all come together.
And for Pier 1 it is how we look to our customers when they visit our stores.

Whether we work in the stores or the distribution center or in the home office,
Pier 1 has enjoyed success based on the fact that
we are pulling toward a common goal.
The product is quality product, which makes us want to send everything
we send to our stores have the quality that Pier 1 is looking for.
I started at Pier 1 when I was a senior in college,
as an assistant manager and then became a store manager.
I then was a regional manager and
then have been at the home office about 5 years.
I think it’s very important to promote and develop our internal associates.
Happy associates make happy customers which grows a business.
I’ve always felt that what I do here matters and
it contributes to the whole of the company.
I think the strides that we’ve made in the last 2 and 3 years have been amazing.
There are so many great benefits for working at Pier 1.
The facilities that we work in are amazing
between a really incredible gym and a rec room, great cafeteria.
We really give people the ability to contribute their whole self to their job.
And what they think counts, what they do counts,
because everybody has to make a difference.
The people at Pier 1 bring so much to the table,
everyone has a uniqueness similar to our product,
you are always challenged and you constantly learning,
that's what really builds great careers.
