Okay so you're researching the Chase Freedom Card and the Chase freedom
unlimited card. Duane here with how to build credit TV and in this video I'm
going to be talking about both of those cards the Chase Freedom Card and the
chase freedom unlimited card and kind of give you a comparison between the two so
that you can make an informed decision as to which card you want to actually
get. So I'll talk about that in this video
but before we get started I have a quick message.

Okay so you're interested in getting a card from Chase and you're interested in
getting the Chase Freedom Card or the chase freedom unlimited card. Now these
cards are pretty cool I actually at one point had to chase freedom unlimited
card and then I upgraded that card or transferred from the chase freedom
unlimited card to the chase freedom card. As a matter of fact give me one second
and I'll show you guys both cards and I'll show you the last four digits of
each card because the last four digits are the same on both cards because they
just transferred me from the chase freedom unlimited card to the chase
freedom card. And the reason why I got that card is because it's a 5% cash back
card and I found I find that for me personally that that was the better card
between the two so give me one second and I'll show you guys the credit cards.
Okay so as you can see here I have the chase freedom unlimited card and I have
the Chase Freedom Card the last four digits on both cards is five nine two
seven. So it's the same exact card they just allow me to go from the chase
freedom unlimited to the chase freedom card so I just want to show you guys
that that you're actually able to do that if you want. When I transfer from
the chase freedom unlimited however I did not get the sign-up bonus
for the Chase Freedom Card and of course not because I had already gotten the
signup bonus for the chase freedom unlimited card. Alright so what I'm
gonna do for this portion of the video is I'm gonna jump on over to my laptop
so we can have a look at the website and we can look at both cards we can look at
the Chase Freedom Card and the chase freedom unlimited card so give me one
second and I'll see you guys over on my laptop. Okay so we're at the website here
and we're looking at the two cards we're looking at the chase Freedom Card and
the chase freedom unlimited card so I had to chase freedom unlimited card at
one point and I upgraded from that card to the chase freedom card. So this
website here has a pretty good a pretty good layout of the two different cards
and the differences. So the first thing I want to draw your attention to is
right here the reviews the card member reviews the Chase Freedom Card has
fourteen thousand two hundred and fifty nine, the chase freedom unlimited card
has a 9,268 and so the chase freedom unlimited card I guess was actually came
out after the Chase Freedom Card right so I guess that could be a reason for
the fact that there are less reviews on the chase freedom unlimited card but as
you can see here right off the bat it talks about how much you can earn. So the
chase freedom card on the left you can earn 5% cash back up to fifteen hundred
dollars in combined purchases in bonus categories each quarter you
activate. So the chase freedom card basically allows you to earn 5% cash
back on certain things, certain purchases depending on what quarter you're in and
then after that you will be earning 1% cash back on all other purchases. So if
you purchase something that you're not able to earn 5% cash back on you're
gonna be getting 1% cash back on. The chase freedom unlimited card on the
right hand side you can earn unlimited 1.5% cash back on every single purchase
okay so if you're not trying to keep up with quarters you know the four quarters
in a year and what you have to be worrying about you know like purchase
this and I can get 5% cash back on this. If you want a card that's
simple and pretty straightforward then the chase freedom unlimited card is a
good card for that and you don't have to think about anything you just swipe away
and you know you're gonna get 1.5% cash back. However the purpose of the video is
to kind of open your eyes and kind of get you to compare the two and see which
one works best for you. In my experience the Chase Freedom Card makes most sense
for me because like the 5% categories that they offer throughout the year
sometimes that category is just like it makes sense it's like everyday purchases
that people make. Like for example gas food groceries like if you're getting 5
percent cashback on gas, food and groceries you're gonna come out ahead as
oppose to getting 1.5% cash back. Ok so there's something to think about in
regards to you know the 1.5% cash back on everything versus the 5% cash back on
certain things. And Chase is doing a better job now of giving you different
ways to earn 5% cash back excluding whatever the special offer is for that
quarter so in other words what I mean is they're giving you like for example you
can get 5% cash back if you use Google pay, Apple pay, Samsung pay in the first
quarter of this year. So in other words anything that I that I was able to pay
for with one of those different payment processors whether it's Google pay, Apple
pay, chase pay. I would get 5% cash back on
that purchase so it didn't have to do with you didn't have anything to do with
what that particular quarter was it was just like if I can pay for it with Apple
pay then I'm gonna get 5% cash back like if I went to chick-fil-a and I use Apple
pay to pay for that chick-fil-a is not something that is 5% cash back in
that quarter. It doesn't matter as long as I use my Apple pay so that's another
thing that kind of gives the chase freedom card the advantage for me which
which is why I decided that I wanted to upgrade from the chase freedom unlimited
card to the chase freedom card. So that's kind of what I did personally both of
these cards have no annual fee so that's pretty sweet you don't have to worry
about that. Both of these cards you're able to earn 150 dollars bonus
after you spend $500 on your purchases within the first three months of opening
the account and you can also get an extra $25 when you add an authorized
user and you make a purchase within that same first three months. So the purchase
that you make with the authorized user it doesn't matter what it is it could be
something for $1 something for 96 cents it doesn't matter you're gonna get $25
bonus. So in other words when you spend $500 you get the 150 and then when you
add an authorized user and make any purchase it doesn't have to be you know
anything super expensive you get another $25. Okay so that's pretty easy to do
that's very easy to meet if you have a chase checking account you can actually
have the points redeemed and you can transfer the money directly into your
checking account. So it is real money that's what I like about these cards is
that it's real cash money if you would like if you have a Chase Sapphire
Preferred card or Chase Sapphire Reserve card you can transfer those points to
that card and you can use those points and redeem them for travel or hotels. So
that would be really good if you have that card I don't have either of those
cards yet but I will be getting them very soon so stay tuned
for those videos. Anyway so right here talks about a low of intro APR Both
cards zero introduction APR for 15 months on your purchases and your
balance transfer so if you want to transfer your credit card balance from
another card to one of these two cards you're gonna get 0% interest on that
card for the first 15 months which is really cool you can save some money
there and join the chase family. Okay so between these two cards I mean honestly
you really can't go wrong between the Chase Freedom Card and the Chase
freedom unlimited card. It's really about what your particular style is and what's
easier for you you don't want to deal with the quarters and keeping up what's
going on there. You can just get the regular chase freedom unlimited card and
you get 1.5% cash back on everything. Once again both cards you spend $500 you
get 150 bucks you add an authorized user and you make a purchase with that card
and then you get 25 bucks so that's 175 dollars that you can get for
really spending 501 dollars or 502 dollars. You know that the purchase you
make with authorizers your card doesn't have to be a certain amount it could be
50 cents it doesn't matter what it is as long as you use the card and now you're
gonna get to $25 cash back so that's my review on these two cards. I think
they're both great I think you can't lose with either one. Just choose
