In this video, I am going to share How to write a CV of a Fresher
Your CV is the most important tool when applying for a job.
In fact, it just like a ticket to get you to the next level of selection process such
as an interview with the prospective employer.
When a job is advertised, the recruiter receives a big number of applications and your CV is
one of them in that pile.
Therefore, you just cannot afford to ignore your CV.
So how do you ensure that your CV stands out?
How to make sure that your CV is not thrown straight in the bin?
Well, putting together a good CV is easy once you know how.
Let us share some very important but basic tips with you.
Presentation of the Resume
The first thing that a possible employer will see on your resume is the overall look.
The presentation will include the layout, the text, the formatting, the color of ink
and quality of paper -- to name a few important things.
For that reason, it is very important that you make the right first impression.
Choose a professional font in a size 11 or 12 and fonts such as Times New Roman or Arial
or similar types
The safest size is A4 and white color.
Please avoid other colors unless there is a specific demand of your profession.
The text should always be printed in solid black ink and on one side.
Use bullets, tables, proper alignment etc. to ensure a smart layout. To make the reading
easy you may like to use effective titles.
Avoid excessive use of bold font, capitals and underline, except to show a heading or
a sub heading or to emphasize a specific point.
Also don't print on both sides of the paper. Use two sheets instead.
If you need to post a hard copy of your CV, use good quality paper, staple rather than
clip pages together and use an envelope large enough to keep the CV flat in transit.
Length of the Resume
A CV of a fresher or with a few months of experience should be no longer than two sides
of A4.
Don't be tempted to keep the length of your CV under control by using a small font or
closely packed lines of text.
Overlong CVs may not be read completely or would be kept aside.
Spell Check and Proof Read your Resume
This is like negative marking.
Even if you have made a great looking CV with excellent credentials, your CV will fail to
make an impact on the recruiter if it has spelling mistakes or grammatical errors.
Therefore, proofread your resume several times.
Also double check for contact details and any important information which might be missing.
Often computerized spell checks don't pick up every error.
It is highly recommended that you get the help of an experienced person or a professional
firm like us.
Remember, your resume gets just about 15 to 20 seconds by the recruiter. He will either
keep it or reject it.
So make sure that your CV makes the impact!
