This video will briefly highlight the Content Type, Location in Material, Source Information,
and Keywords metadata fields - - it will also show you how to add source information for
content objects within your material.
Content Type: This metadata field is used to capture the type of content the image displays.
For instance, if the object is a picture of a bread bin, it would be considered a photograph
of objects.
This example content object is a photograph of people.
Location in Material: For textual materials like PowerPoints and PDFs, the slide or page
number that the image lives on must be added to this field. OERca will automatically fill
in this field during the upload process when the “automatically extract content objects”
box is selected.
Source Information: This field is designed to capture source information and citation
information for content objects. The following format is suggested, however APA, MLS, and
Chicago Style citation formats are also accepted.
The suggested format is: Creator
Work Title Resource Name
Resource URL License Name
And License URL
Source information for this example content object is:
Creator: the creator of this image is listed as “Official Star Wars Blog”
Work Title: the title is “Star Wars Kids” Resource Name: this image is from flickr
Resource URL: Copy and paste the resource URL here
License Name: This image has a creative commons attribution 2.0 license, which can be captured
here as CC: BY 2.0 License URL: Copy and past the license URL

Keywords: Keywords can also be added for the content object to provide additional contextual
information and to allow for future web searching capabilities.
