Jaystepher here today with a review of the
Lego Apple Tree House!
Lego Apple Tree House!
Set number 5891,
recommended for ages seven through twelve,
contains 539 pieces.
Let's see, you get here you get to build the nice,
looks like a suburban home,
basketball court, you got a garage,
cool lawn mower.
So it is a three-in-one special. You get to build two other houses.
So it is a three-in-one special. You get to build two other houses.
So it is a three-in-one special. You get to build two other houses.
It looks good.
Can't wait to put this together.
So let's crack this baby open.
So let's crack this baby open.
I couldn't find my scissors so I'm just going to use one of my car keys.
They have to tape it down real good.
I don't know if it's dark in there. You can still see some pieces.
Let's kind of pull these out and see what we got here.
Empty box.
I don't like the way these instruction manuals were packed,
but we go get some color manuals
just like with all the Lego stuff.
I'm going to have to flatten these out.
I'm going to have to flatten these out.
There's another manual.
So I guess there's a build for each.
5891, there we go!
I will be building each of the models.
Two 16 by 32 stud base plates.
Two 16 by 32 stud base plates.
Two 16 by 32 stud base plates.
Although, these are slightly lighter that what I've seen.
Although, these are slightly lighter than what I've seen.
That's kind of awkward.
The reason why I'm saying that,
here's a normal base plate that I have that
is almost the same but
these are different colors. I've never seen that before.
Now I have one of these little 16 by 16 plates
that are the same color. That's just awkward, I've never had that.
I just had to point that out because it looks different.
So we get two of those.
Bags don't appear to be numbered.
So I guess you just have to do the whole
pouring them out thing as you go. Plenty of white pieces. These are all the roof tiles.
I don't have any dark blue roof tiles. I got a whole giant box of red ones.
So I guess a lot of grey and black pieces, or reds greys. Lots of green stuff, I'm taking this is for the shrubbery,
or for the apple tree.
There you have it.
There's the layout of all the parts.
Let's get building!
The first build of the series is the Tall Townhouse.
It features a three-story cottage
It features a three-story cottage
type townhouse thing.
First off we noticed is the nice lamp, the detail in the lamps.
First off we noticed is the nice lamp, the detail in the lamps.
I like the way the bushes came out.
We have a table and a stool back here.
We have a table and a stool back here.
I like the door with the red door ***.
I like the door with the red door ***.
I like the porch light.
A little picnic table.
Some shrubbery here.
And I think this is really cool is this teetertotter or see-saw,
and the bird bath.
Now, just like with all the Creator sets is you can actually remove the stories.
Just a basic 8 by 8 room, nothing fancy.
Just a basic 8 by 8 room, nothing fancy.
Not much you can put anything ... maybe some accessories but not a lot.
Not much you can put anything ... maybe some accessories but not a lot.
Not much you can put anything ... maybe some accessories but not a lot.
Easily snaps back on.
Take off the roof.
Same thing with the second story.
This black thing here is like an air condition type thing. I really don't see the need for that,
This black thing here is like an air condition type thing. I really don't see the need for that,
but they put it in there.
You can even see light through it. Let's see here.
Yeah, I guess that's a little air conditioner that brings air from the outside.
And here's the roof.
You don't have access to the attic.
It's cool.
I like the way they did the roof on this.
I like the way they did the roof on this.
The chimney.
All-in-all for the first build,
All-in-all for the first build,
this is great.
I like how they just did the little patio area.
I like how they just did the little patio area.
And there you have it,
The Tall Townhouse.
The second model is the Summer Home.
The second model is the Summer Home.
Really nice detail here.
Really nice detail here.
Let's take a closer look.
Okay we got the yard here.
One thing I've noticed we got the
spigot here for the hose.
That's some nice detail, I like the way they did this
pop-out window here.
Got a lounge and a table and a nice lamp.
Got a lounge and a table and a nice lamp.
It looks like an oil lamp.
Some shrubbery here.
Nice chimney.
Now one thing I've noticed is I've never seen one of these type of
flap style windows before.
This is new.
You can see some plants in there.
Here's the front of the house.
Nice little flowerbed below the window
and above the door.
Nice porch light. Good idea the way they did the porch light there.
Here's some more shrubbery here that looks really nice. I like the way that turned out.
Now, take a look at this side here. Nothing special.
I don't know why they didn't want the windows in there, but that's the way they wanted it.
There's that famous vent thing.
There's that famous vent thing.
A gill or grate. I think it's suppose to be like an air conditioner.
Now, this is really creative how this is set up.
This roof actually opens up.
Just like that!
Here's this little stop thing here.
This keeps the roof from coming down.
Really, that's clever engineering there. It really is.
Let's take a look inside.
You can see what it looks like part of a fireplace. That's the way it was.
I don't know why they didn't finish it.
They got some stools there.
All-in-all it's pretty large inside.
Lot's of detail.
I like the way the use of the slope bricks. When you're done, you just close it down.
Pretty nice strong structure there.
Pretty nice strong structure there.
So that is the Summer Home.
So that is the Summer Home.
Lots of detail.
Here is the last model that you can build.
This is the Apple Tree House.
This is the Apple Tree House.
Let's take a closer look.
The first thing to start off right away ...
The first thing we can see right away we got a basketball hoop.
The first thing we can see right away we got a basketball hoop.
And I don't know why they just didn't include a basketball or something.
And I don't know why they just didn't include a basketball or something.
And I don't know why they just didn't include a basketball or something.
There's your basketball. I like the way they did this.
Never thought about that.
Here's the garage door.
This is built a little different than mine.
See if I can open it up,
and apparently it's too hard to open up.
I never can really get it to open up before.
This is about as close as I can get it to open up.
So this thing's really tough to open. It always sticks.
You can see they used bricks.
See if I can give it another shot.
There we go.
This hits this basketball hoop.
Of course because it turned.
So, it's a little busy here, a little tight.
So, it's a little busy here, a little tight.
You have enough room to park somewhat of a car in there.
This here can be improved.
This here can be improved.
So I better not close that all the way.
I like the way they did the porch light
and this mailbox. That's really clever.
The roof. A little satellite dish. Chimney.
Now this is something I thought that's really cool was this lawnmower. I've never seen anyway to build a lawnmower. That's really efficient.
And here is the tree, the apple tree.
And here is the tree, the apple tree.
Apparently you got apples on the ground here and
some in here that looks like some kind of a barrel.
Plenty of shrubs.
One over here.
Lot's of great detail. You got a bench here.
Now this one's ... the roof on this one is kind of weird.
Now this one's ... the roof on this one is kind of weird.
The roof here, this part here comes off, this part here is stationary.
So let's pop this part of the roof off.
Very simple construction.
Very effective.
They also got the skylight on the other side.
Set that off to the side there.
Take a look inside.
Not much to say.
The garage is way in there.
So this is basically one room.
Not a lot of space to put any furniture
or mini-figs.
The steps here,
I don't know why they're like that.
And there is the second story.
And there is the second story.
If I can get the cam up under there.
Not a lot of room.
You really can't play with that in there. I mean I can only fit like two fingers in here.
Maybe, a lot of pieces getting stuck in there. So that's something else.
They should have made the roof all come off.
But all-in-all, it's pretty cool. I like the way they did the split roof.
It's easy to put back on.
So there is the Lego Apple Tree House.
This is a very fun build. Great addition to anybody's set.
I like the way it turned out. I like the dark blue tiles. I don't have any of those. Now I got some.
I forgot to mention the little light here above the garage door.
Really creative.
So this is the Lego Creator
