Welcome to Discover the Truth. It's a blessing to be with you today.
Have you ever considered the greatness of our Father in heaven? Whether it be His majesty,
preeminence or omnipotence, our Father's greatness can be seen throughout this vast
universe. Paul in Romans 1:20 said it this way, he said, "For the invisible things
of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things
that are made, even his eternal power and Majesty; so that they are without excuse..."
Whether it's the atom, the basic building block of all matter, or the billions of galaxies
within this universe, the fingerprint of our Father in heaven is seen. For this reason,
Paul says here that those who deny His existence are without excuse.
Again, consider the atom. This microscopic unit is composed of a center nucleus and a
cloud of negatively charged electrons. In the nucleus we find positive protons and neutral
neutrons. H2O or the water molecule contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms. This molecule
is unique in that it can take the form of a liquid, solid or even gas. Without this
one essential molecule, life could not exist. Now even though all of this exemplifies the
greatness of our Father in heaven, I believe that there are other attributes that are closer
to home that reveals the absolute greatness of the one we worship. Today we're going
consider four: 1. His Law 2. His Grace 3. His forgiveness and 4. His Love.
All of these attributes exemplify the greatness and absolute preeminence of Almighty Yahweh
our Father in heaven. Through these four items we're going to realize why our Father above
is unique from all others. As we'll see, there's not a greater set
of commandments than those delivered from Mount Sinai. There's not a greater example
of grace or favor from that which we find in the Word. And there's certainly no greater
instance of forgiveness and love than that which we find through our Father in heaven.
Understand though that these are just a few of the items that exemplify the excellence
of our Father above. We worship a Mighty One that is greater and better than anything else
in this vast universe. Let's begin by considering the commandments
given to Moses. In Deuteronomy 4:5 we find exactly why the commandments are a blessing.
Deuteronomy 4:5, it says, "Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as
Yahweh my Elohim commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess
it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the
sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great
nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great who hath
Elohim so nigh unto them, as Yahweh our Elohim is in all things that we call upon him for?
And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all
this law, which I set before you this day?" Moses told the people that other nations would
look upon Israel's law and say, "Surely this great nation is wise and understanding
people." Understand that there's never been a greater code of law given from what
our Father gave to His chosen people some 3500 years ago. It doesn't matter what code
of law we consider, whether it be the code of Hammurabi or the great Roman senate, all
other systems of law pale in comparison. Matter a fact, much of our own legal system
was based on these commandments. From the Diary and Autobiography of John Adams, we
read these words. It says, "Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible
for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts
there exhibited! ...What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be,".
Yahweh's commandments have influenced numerous civilizations throughout the history of mankind.
Understand that every commandment within His Word has a purpose and meaning. For instance,
medical science has shown that the human body works best with one day of rest per week.
Our Father within His Word commands that we rest on the seventh-day Sabbath. Contrary
to popular belief, the Sabbath is still obligatory to believers today. Our Savior and His Apostles,
including Paul, observed this day in the New Testament.
Science has also shown that certain foods should be avoided for human consumption. For
example, according to a study by John Hopkins University, the meat from a swine is more
toxic than a rat. Shockingly, Yahweh's Word forbids both.
Dr. Russell in his book entitled, What the Bible Says About Healthy Eating, further explains
friends the perils of eating pork. He says there, "One reason for...forbidding pork
is that the digestive system of a pig is completely different from that of a cow. It is similar
to ours, in that the stomach is very acidic. Pigs are gluttonous, never knowing when to
stop eating. Their stomach acids become diluted because of the volume of food, allowing all
kinds of vermin to pass through this protective barrier. Parasites, bacteria, viruses, and
toxins can pass into the pigs flesh because of overeating. These toxins and infectious
agents can be passed on to humans when they eat a pig's flesh."
Tell me friends, how could a bunch of nomads understand things of this nature? There was
no need, because Yahweh, the Creator of this grand universe, was the Law giver and knew
what was best for mankind from the beginning. This is again why through our Father's commandments
we find wisdom and unparalleled understanding. For the last few decades this nation, along
with Europe, has progressively moved away from Yahweh's word to a more secular system.
Tell me friends are we better off morally today than we were some 50 years ago? The
answer is obviously no! In Romans 7:7 Paul explains the value of Yahweh's
commandments from a New Testament perspective. There in Romans he says, "What shall we
say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I
had not known ***, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet... Wherefore the law
is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good."
We see here that the law defines the nature of sin. As Paul again says here, "...for
I had not known ***, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." This same concept
holds true about ***, theft, fornication, adultery, or any other commandment we find
within His Word. Friends we're going to take a short break.
We're going to come back and explore again this passage here by Paul, so stay with us
we'll be back in a short moment. "Astonishing Bible Truths Your Church Never

Welcome back! You know we heard before we left off that
the Law defines sin. Here's the simple truth, without the commandments
we would be without a benchmark or standard defining morality. So in essence, Yahweh's
law defines the nature of sin. Paul also says here that the commandments
are holy, just, and good. Many paint Paul as an antinomian, in the Greek this simply
means someone who opposes the commandments. It seems to me though that not only does he
understand the intent or purpose, but also the blessings and benefit of Yahweh's Word.
So again the lesson here is this, the commandments were directly inspired from our Father in
heaven and serves as a basis of morality for all of mankind. Ironically, again friends
we are seeing this being rejected in this nation today.
Another item that displays the greatness of Almighty Yahweh is His grace. A fact that
surprises many people about grace is that it's actually found first in the Old Testament.
We find grace in the story of Noah. Genesis 6:7. It says there, "And Yahweh said, I
will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast,
and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made
them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of Yahweh."
Think about the situation here -- besides for Noah, all the earth was corrupt. Every
imagination of man's heart was only evil continually. Man had completely rebelled and
fallen into apostasy. Does this sound familiar? Does this sound familiar with what we are
seeing in this nation today? Scripture also says here that Noah because
he was found righteous and perfect in his generation, that he found grace or favor in
Yahweh's eyes. So from the very beginning we find an example of our Father's grace.
You know Yahweh could've justifiably destroyed all of mankind, but we find that he had grace
or compassion upon Noah and his family. Think about the ramifications if Noah had
not found grace. The likelihood is that you and I would not be here today. The fact that
we exist is evidence of the grace or favor that our Father showed to Noah some 4000 years
ago. Now we know that grace is also found in the
New Testament. The Apostle Paul in Romans 3:23 explains how we are saved by grace. Romans
3:23, Paul says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of Elohim; Being justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Messiah Yahshua...."
A fact that we cannot escape as human beings is that we've all sinned and we've all fallen
short of Yahweh's glory. As a believer, this is something I always try to remember.
You know every person listening is a sinner -- not one of us is worthy of our Father's
salvation based on what we've done. For this reason alone, it's impossible for
us to earn salvation based on our own works or deeds. Listen friends, redemption or justification
comes only by grace through Yahshua the Messiah, our Savior. Because of this, some might ask,
why then must we obey. While we don't obey to earn salvation or
redemption, we must be found worthy of it. To be found worthy of salvation and to express
our love, we must obey, as any son would his father. But again we don't obey to earn
redemption -- As it says here, being justified freely by His grace.
Why is this distinction important? Remember that grace is defined as Yahweh's favor;
a favor is not earned, but is freely given. You know Paul in Romans 5:8 says, "But Elohim
commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us."
Grace is a by-product of our Father's love -- while we were yet sinners our Father showed
his love or grace through the sacrifice of His own Son, Yahshua the Messiah. Now along
with grace another attribute that exemplifies our Father's greatness is forgiveness.
In Luke 15 we find Yahshua's parable of the prodigal Son. For those who may not be
familiar with this story, let me give you a quick summary.
A father had two sons. His younger son came to him one day and asked for his inheritance.
His father honored his son's request and gave them both their inheritance. Upon receiving
his inheritance, the younger son left home and squandered his father's wealth through
immortality and sin. Upon losing everything, he became a hired servant feeding swine, one
of the most humiliating jobs by the way for a Jewish man. Now after realizing his mistakes,
he thought it best that he return home and repent and apologize to his father.
Let's fnow finish this parable in Luke, Luke 15:20: It says, "And he arose, and
came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had
compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him,
Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be
called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put
it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted
calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry. For this my son was dead, and is alive
again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry."
The prodigal son here represents mankind and the Father here represents Yahweh, our Father
in heaven. What lessons do we find through this parable?
Number one, our Father in heaven allows us to make mistakes. In this parable we see that
the father did not restrain his son, even though I'm sure he knew what lied ahead.
In the same way, our Father above gives us freedom to choose our own path. In the book
of Deuteronomy He told Israel, "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live." Understand that Yahweh
wants a willing heart; He's not looking for forced obedience.
Number two, there's a penalty or consequence for sin. In this parable the son had to learn
things the hard way. He was reduced as we found to hunger and to feeding swine. In the
same way, if we forsake our Father's Word, we too will experience the consequences of
sin. I'm sure that we all have examples of mistakes that we've made in the past
and as a result, the impact or consequence that we had to pay.
Number three, repentance is always an option. Even though this son wasted his inheritance,
we find that his Father brought him back into the family. This is one of the greatest lessons
we find here; no matter what we've done in the past, friends listen to this, listen
we can always repent. And number four, if we repent, our Father
is faithful to forgive our sins. Even though the prodigal son forsook his father, wasted
his wealth, lived in sin, we find that he found forgiveness.
We're going to stop here, for just a moment. Stay with us. We'll be back in a short moment.

As we saw before our break, no matter what we've done, we can always find forgiveness
from our Father in heaven, if only we repent and follow Him.
Just as the father forgave his son in this parable, our Father in heaven is willing and
able to do the same for us. All we must do is ask for forgiveness and then obey him,
as a son would his father. Remember that He doesn't have to forgive, He chooses to forgive
and as His people we're to follow in His example.
The last attribute that exemplifies our Father's greatness is love. Out of all the characteristics
that define our Father in heaven there is none greater than this one.
In Isaiah 1 we find that Judah was in complete rebellion to Almighty Yahweh. So much so that
He compared her to *** and Gomorrah. It was so bad that in verse 15 He said, "...when
ye make many prayers, I will not hear." Even though they were in apostasy though we
find in this passage that He was willing to show His love and compassion.
Starting in verse 16, Isaiah 1:16 we find these words, it says "Wash you, make you
clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn
to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Come now, and let us reason together, saith Yahweh: though your sins be as scarlet, they
shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If
ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel,
ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of Yahweh hath spoken it."
Even though at this point Judah was again guilty of horrible apostasy, in verses 18
and 19, Yahweh offers forgiveness and redemption. Notice again what He says in verse 18. He
says, "Come now, and let us reason together." This word "reason" comes from the Hebrew
"yaw-kahh" it's a primitive root within the Hebrew language has a lot of different
definitions, it means, "to prove, to decide, to judge, to rebuke, to reprove, to correct,
to be right or to reason." SO we find here that it means to reason.
Now think about this for just a moment -- on one side you have Yahweh, the King of this
Universe, and on the other you have rebellious Judah. Considering the circumstance, why would
Yahweh ever reason with Judah? He had no motivation, He has no reason except for one, and that
was His love. Again, he loved Judah as a father loves his
children. You know speaking as a father myself, I know that this love is boundless and without
measure. In verse 18, he said again, "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white
as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be like wool." Friends this contrast
illustrates again the love and forgiveness that Yahweh has for mankind.
It shows that no matter what we've done that our Father in heaven is willing to cleanse
us from our sins. It doesn't matter how deep those stains go, believe me, His cleansing
is sufficient. There's nothing we've done that He cannot remove and purify. The only
thing we must do is what we find in verse 19, Yahweh says there again, if you be willing
and obedient. Willing and obedient. Now when I think of Yahweh's love, there's
no greater example than for what He did through His Son, Yahshua the Messiah. John 3:16, a
passage we should all be familiar with, "For Yahweh so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life." Yahweh so loved the world that he sacrificed
His own Son so that we might be saved through Him. When I think about what Yahweh sacrificed,
it's hard to believe. How many of us could make this same sacrifice? I don't believe
any of us could do what our Father in heaven did for us.
Why again did Yahweh do this? What was His motivation, what was His reasoning? He did
this because He so loved the world. This again shows the depth of our Father's love for mankind.
Beyond His love, there was no reason there was no motivation for Him to sacrifice His
only Son. Our Father wants us to be saved, He wants
us to receive everlasting life, He wants us to have peace, He wants us to be well, He
wants us to experience His blessings and He's given us His only Son to make all this happen.
We should be thankful and we should praise Him that He has sacrificed so much for us,
realizing that without our Savior, realizing that without Yahshua the Messiah, and without
our Father's love we would not exist. We would not be here today friends.
I'd like to share with you one more passage illustrating His love, illustrating His forgiveness
that we find in the book of Psalms. Psalms 103, and I would like to begin in verse 6,
it says - "Yahweh executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. He made
known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. Yahweh is merciful and
gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he
keep his anger forever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; not rewarded us according
to our iniquities." Friends we find here, I'm going to stop for just a moment but we
find here that Yahweh has not rewarded us, in other words He has not judged us based
on what we've done, based on our own sins. You know we're all worthy of death. We're
worthy of death and we're worthy of punishment. But through His son through the sacrifice,
again that we find in John 3:16 we see that we are redeemed and find justification through
that sacrifice. In verse 11 it says - "For as the heaven is high about the earth, so
great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far
hath he removed our transgressions from us." So we see here again friends that Yahweh has
literally removed our iniquities as far as east is from the west, they're in opposite
ends friends. Listen to that they're at opposite ends. Our Father has completely purged and
removed our sins and has given us an opportunity to be saved, has given us an opportunity for
redemption, has given us an opportunity for His Kingdom of heaven. This is our calling
this is why we're here. To do His will, to faithfully serve Him in all His ways. It continues,
it says - "Like as a father pitieth his children, so Yahweh pitieth them that fear him. For
he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass:
as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth." This is the promise we have friends. If we
strive to obey Him and do His will. The attributes that we've seen He's going to give us and
bless us with. I pray that this has been a blessing for you
and that you would join us next time for Discover the Truth.
