American Idol’s Sudden Death comes to an end -- which final contestants made the cut?
Hey guys, I’m Melana Scantlin and TVLine.com has the details.
Thursday night, the final 10 men sang for a spot in next week’s live voting rounds.
The standout of the night hands-down was Vincent Powell, who sang "Cause I Love You" by Lenny
Williams.
He was so good that female contestant Zoanette Johnson seemed to be possessed by it while
watching from the audience... and Nicki Minaj hinted at the, um, strong effect it had on
her:
Josh Holliday ALMOST had us with his original song and piano-playing with the high falsetto....
But then stood up and started making moves that gave us an awkward Backstreet Boy vibe
-- which wasn’t a hit with the judges.
Things got better with Hurricane Katrina survivor Burnell Taylor, who sings John Legend’s
“This Time.”
Nicki says he’s the only contestant she’d pay to see at this point...and gets emotional
about his transformation since the auditions.
Lazaro Arbos made a bold choice by singing a Keith Urban Song in front of Keith Urban.
But after his so-so performance of "Tonight I Wanna Cry" -- we were sure he’d shed his
last tear on the show.
But the judges surprised us by keeping Lazaro over someone like David Oliver Willis.
In the end, it was farewell to David, Bryant, Mathenee, Josh, and Gurpreet.
Lazaro will join Vincent, Cortez, Burnell, Nick and the other 5 men the judges chose
last week in the live voting rounds.
So who was your favorite of the night? do you agree with the judge’s picks? Let us
